What can one say!!! Totally wonderful guest house and Rachel was the pefect hostess. Warm, friendly Islay welcome, fabulous rooms, breakfasts to die for (full Scottish and kippers), perfect location. Rachel just can't do enough for you - even down to organising taxis. 100% on the nail!!

Glenegedale House stands proud in open countryside between Port Ellen and Bowmore opposite a small airfield. Rachel and Alasdair are warm and welcoming hosts, full of knowledge and passion for their island. The rooms are of a high standard both in furnishings and cleanliness and the general ambience is one of relaxing calm. Rachel's breakfast are incomparable - a truly... More

We stayed at Glenegedale the beginning of May. What can we say, but fantastic hosts, fabulous food and wonderful accomodations. Rachel and Alasdair make you feel some welcome and comfortable, we didn't want to leave! They are very helpful guides to the island and run a great guest house. Fantastic breakfast (the best porridge ever!). Everything is 5 star. We... More

Splendid hosts and attentitive staff makes this a tranquile island hide away. From arrival to departure everything was perfect and Rachel's scones are fab along with the home made jam that accompanies them. Will most definately return.

Actually we stayed across the road at Glenmachrie House, which is also a part of the farm. OMG there is so much to tell, our hosts were amazing, so helpful and kind. Only wish we would have been able to enjoy a supper at the farm, but due to the Malt Fest in town, we were provided with breakfasts (fit... More

We wanted an Inn towards the south end of Islay because my husband, being devoted to Laphroig whiskey, wished to tour his favorite brand's distillary. After much internet sleuthing, I picked Glenegedale House. And we were so glad that we did! Appearances can be a bit deceiving, as the Inn stands by itself in an open field across from the... More

Glenegedale House is mid-way between Bowmore and Port Ellen and ideally situated for the airport. Rachel and Alasdair couldn't have been more helpful and obliging, helping us plan our stay and ensuring we got the best out of our brief trip to Islay. Our room was small but extremely well equipped and very comfortable with a lovely view out to... More

Me and my partner stayed at Glenegedale Guest House for 2 nights in March. I can only agree with all the other comments. This place is fantastic. Rachel and Alistair are the most wonderful hosts. Rachel couldnt have been more lovely. We were greeted with a warm welcome on a chilli Friday night. We found a nice whiskey waiting for... More
