Margaret the b&b owner is a warm and friendly person but respects your privacy. The rooms are comfortable and clean with good facilities and I felt very relaxed and slept really well. I can guarantee that after one of Margarets lovely breakfasts you will not want to eat again that day. One of the personal touches I loved was that... More

The BnB has several good things- It's location. Located just a little walk from the ferry terminal it is just short distances away from Iona Abbey, main restaurants and the Dun I hill (this is situated right behind the BnB). - Mrs. McDonald's hospitality, help with where stuff is in Iona is great. - The breakfast is done at a... I have stayed at Mrs McDonald's B&B for the past week whilst attending a retreat on the beautiful Isle of Iona. It is a short walk from the town centre and has rooms with amazing views over the bay where you can watch the seagulls fish at twilight. Margaret is a very warm host and provides a very delicious cooked... More

May partner and I had the pleasure of staying with Margaret MacDonald for three nights in the spring of 2015. She was warm and welcoming and helped us out in terms of picking us up at the ferry, giving us information about the island and generally taking care of us. Her hospitality was generous and hearty. As someone who longs... More

I stayed only one night with Margaret in the spring of 2014 with two companions. We had come to Iona on a retreat which accommodated us elsewhere for the duration of our stay. One of my companions comes to Iona every year and Bishop's Walk is always her first choice. Our two rooms were in a separate wing, recently renovated,... More

I have never felt more welcome in a b+b before. Margaret's b+b is without doubt the best on the planet! The breakfasts are AMAZING! You'll not go hungry after one of these beasty feasts, and all cooked to perfection. The rooms are lovely and clean with a beautiful view over the sound towards mull. And her local knowledge is next... More

Bishop’s walk was recommended to me by friends. It sounded ideal for my planned three night stay so I rang the owner, Mrs Margaret MacDonald, and made a booking. She did explain the double room I would be in had no sea view. Fine by me. Why anyone would want a sea view when surrounded by water I fail to... More

Margaret McDonald is the consummate host. The review form forced me to pick a time for when we traveled but didn't include the option for March/April 2013, so I picked a year later. We actually stayed with her for Holy Week in 2013, which began at the end of March, so lots of things on the island weren't up and... More

I stayed with Margaret for two nights. Her Bed and Breakfast was very cosy and welcoming, and I enjoyed beautiful views of the sea from my bedroom (I was in a twin bedroom at the back of the house). The house is ideally situated, being very close to two beautiful beaches and only a ten minute walk away from the... More

I stayed with Margaret for 8 nights. Her breakfasts were amazing (and enormous!), the location of the house is fantastic, her knowledge of Iona was very helpful, and she is very kind and hospitable. I would recommend her B&B to anyone. Hope I have the chance to stay there again sometime soon :)
