The Argyll is a lovely old hotel on the Isle of Iona, overlooking the water crossing back to the Isle of Mull. Our room was very comfortable with a nice ensuite. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was superb. Continental breakfast was generous. Highly recommended.

We have just come back from three marvellous days on Iona and thank owners Rob & Wendy so much for the perfect stay in every way. They are both so relaxed and calm yet think of the effort they make to run this absolute gem of a hotel. The fact that they are on an island off another island on... More

Admittedly the choice of accommodations on Iona are limited. Our room was tiny and the only window was broken and would not close. It stayed open a few inches for the three nights we were there. The shower was good and the staff friendly and helpful. It is only about a three minute walk to the ferry. Our room was... More

Thanks for taking the time to review us. I apologise for the window, but a new one has been installed now. I am glad that you found the staff very helpful and enjoyed the lounges and coal fire. More

We stopped off briefly for coffee and cake before boarding the ferry back to Mull. What a lovely, quirky, cosy hotel. The manger who attended to us was welcoming and helpful. We had a peek in the dining room which looked very nice with a stylish, pleasing ambience. Some small lounges with comfy settees and bookcases looked like the perfect... More

We stopped at the Argyll Hotel for a quick lunch before boarding the ferry back to the Isle of Mull. As it was a little late - or maybe as the place was rather full - it took our hosts a little while to confirm we could actually sit for lunch, but once we did they were very serviceable and... More

What a wonderful review - thank you so much! We are lucky to have our own baker here, so the chocolate brownies are made on site. They should be just as good next time you visit. We look forward to you coming and staying with us on your next visit and entertaining you some more. More

The Argyll Hotel far exceeded the high expectations we had from the website. Simply the friendliest and most service helpful service we've ever received, but without being intrusive. We had the family room with a wonderful view of the sea. Although the room itself was quite small it was comfortable and there was adequate space for storing all the waterproofs... More

I am very happy that your stay with us was so enjoyable. It was a pleasure to meet you both, and much easier to help you as you informed us about the silent retreat aspect as soon as you arrived. You can now book online through our website which should make it easier to plan ahead. Thank you for taking... More

We had a wonderful time on Iona and the Argyll Hotel was an important part of making our four nights there so good. We did not choose the most expensive lodgings so we did not expect a 5 star experience. Its location was perfect, being a short walk from the ferry and having a lawn with seating and tables with... Dear Grandmum, I am happy to hear that your stay with us was generally to your satisfaction. You are correct about the tub with the shower, and I apologise for any misunderstanding. As the room is in an old part of the hotel we are constrained as to what we can do without rebuilding it. We do try to make... More

Iona is an ancient and unique island at the edge of the world. You need two ferries to get here from the mainland and it is exciting to see the hotel nestled among the little houses beside the the ferry pier. The rooms are neat and cosy and well appointed and the sea view (for which you pay a lot) is... More

Your comments are much appreciated, and I am delighted that you were so impressed overall. We have considered comments over the past year and a cooked breakfast will be included in next year’s rates. We would like to offer WiFi in more of the hotel but until such time as the broadband service for the island can cope with higher... More
