We stayed five nights in July 08 as part of a clergy Sabbatical break - and found several other clergy doing the same, from several different countries. The hotel is integrated into the overall Iona context and experience - friendly, open, welcoming and well run. It is not a four star multi national - and that is precisely part of... more

I just tried to book one room for single occupancy at the St Columba Hotel and was told the rate was £79 plus they would charge and extra £50 on top as a single supplement making a one night stay there cost £129! I am deeply unimpressed at this and find it hard to understand why such a steep single... more

This is the perfect location on Iona. The dinner and the breakfast were both excellent. Our room was suitable except for the mold in the bathroom and on the shower curtain, something I don't expect when paying this much for a room. more

We recently spent one evening on Iona and stayed at the St. Columba with no regrets. The staff was there to meet the ferry and take our luggage up to the hotel while we meandered up the street taking in the sights of the Nunnery and Abbey. The staff was pleasant and helpful during our entire stay. The hotel offered... more

Our group of ten stayed at the St Columba Hotel in late April, as part of a prayer journey to ancient Celtic sites. We expected the St. Columba to be pretty rustic since the Isle of Iona as very remote, but we were pleasantly surprised! We all agreed the Columba was our favorite hotel of the trip. It was very... more

A group of 8 of us stayed at the St. Columba 2 nights as part of a pilgrimage to Iona. Delightfully accomodating staff; wonderful food. We did not experience the lack of fresh veggies reported by another reviewer. more

We stayed at St. Columba for two days in August and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The view from the hotel was spectacular. Breakfast and dinner were included and we found the meals to be very good. The vegetables are mostly grown at the hotel and from the dining room you can see the gardens. The apple-parsnip and... more

This is a medium sized, comfortable hotel on the Isle of Iona, which is about as far away from anything as you can find. We stayed a single night, but wished it had been two nights since it takes all day to get there and as long to leave! We ended up having to take the 7 AM ferry to... more

We loved our stay at the St. Columba Hotel on Iona. There are only two hotels on Iona and they are both lovely. This time we stayed in the Columba with our three children. We had two rooms next to each other. The rooms are simple and clean. No television, no telephone. Wonderful change! If you have a seaview room,... more

My husband and I stayed for one night in a very comfortable corner room with a view of the sea. The whole stay was relaxing and peaceful, which is what we were hoping for. We really enjoyed the hotel, and the food (including the produce from the garden) was great. We would have liked to stay longer. Our room was... more
