I recently spent 4 nights here with my wife. We had travelled up with a Skills Tour. On arrival two more coaches had pulled in. The overall booking in procedure, overseen by the catering manager was fast and efficient. All the staff were friendly and helpful, no service request too trivial. The room was really comfortable. The food was excellent. Breakfast... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, the staff are friendly and very welcoming. The food is very nice and well priced. For the hotel and room thats another story, we stayed in room 2, it was very tired, the shelves were falling of the walls, the decor really needed to be redone. The toilet seat was broken and it had... More

...they were not reviewing the hotel I went to. The Rob Roy advertises as 3.star, and that was fair. Rooms clean, staff friendly, views fabulous. Good location if you have transport as Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sterling are less than an hour away.

Budget, coach hotel but good in spite of that. Would stay if we were travelling independently as they have good offers for multi night stays. A really good base to be to visit the local area and the gorgeous scenery.

Coach trip so set dinner, three choices each of starter, main and sweet followed by tea or coffee, well presented and very quick service. Be quick for breakfast or they could run out of a few things. It's budget but good. We went really to see the Edinburgh Tattoo (well recommended and a must if you like the pipes in... More

Although this hotel is in need of an upgrade of decor, the rest was very good value for what was paid. the rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable, lovely hot shower... More

I liked the hotel a lot and my god the breakfast! WOW! That breakfast was worth the room price on it's own. I liked that you could come and go without passing through the front desk time and time over. The location of the hotel is incredible, however because it is a bit remote conveniences in the town are a... More

Looked for a place to stop on our trip to the north and came across this. We were aware of the mixed reviews, so expected it to be a lot worse. The room was ok, window does open, bed comfy, shower worked, the breakfast was fine. ample parking also. I would call it an average budget hotel. It is likely... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rob Roy Hotel is situated at the gateway to the Trossachs in beautiful countryside where one of Scotland's most famous rogue's "Rob Roy McGregor" once roamed. The Hotel is an ideal centre for touring the Trossachs, Perthshire and the Highlands. The little picturesque village of Aberfoyle is just 1 mile from the Hotel and is host to three visitor centres, The Scottish Wool Centre, The David Marshall Lodge and the Scottish Tourist Board's very own Discovery Centre. The historic city of Stirling is only 18 miles away, and here you can find our sister hotel The King Robert, situated next door to The Bannockburn Centre, on the site of the famous battle. ... more   less
