We booked one of the four poster rooms. Straight away after walking into the room it was obvious that someone had been smoking in the room. The smell didn't go away the whole time we were there. The hotel offered us a free meal by way of compensation. But we were left even more disappointed when we were kept awake... more

A one-night stay here to attend a family wedding. The setting is glorious, with terrific views across Loch Ard and the mountains beyond. Room somewhat dated, but otherwise fine - putting an iPod dock in a room does not automatically make it up-to-date - with plenty of space and (lumpy) easy chairs. The beds are comfortable, and the hotel very... more

My husband booked this hotel for us to have a quiet night away while grandparents babysitted! I have to say it was an excellent choice and I would not hesitate in going back. The loch view room that we had was large and recently refurbished. Having a new flat screen tv and ipod docking station was an additional treat. The... more

Booked a superior room overlooking the loch for £165 D/B&B. From check-in to check-out we were impressed with the friendliness, helpfulness and cheerfulness of all the staff. The leisure complex was being refurbished, so the hotel wasn't busy. The meals in the Garden Restaurant were good and a fair choice of courses. You could also eat in the Rafters bistro... more

Sixteen of us go away every year for an overnight Xmas Dance (eight couples) and this year we decided to pay a bit more. The welcome was lovely. Checkin was friendly and fast- they advised us that the bar could not deal with cash after 11.30pm so we had to leave credit card details ( never heard of this before).... more

This is an exceptionally tired, run down and over priced hotel made worse by the staff who have some of the worst customer service skills I have ever experienced. Food leaves alot to be desired especially room service breakfast which was a complete joke. What should have been a romantic break away was ruined when the hotel could not even... more

Read the reviews here. Booked for 6 nights, left after 2 nights. Food is VERY good. Rooms are OK. They are in big need refurbishing, but they are clean. The on-site health accommodations are very, very poor, but they said that it would be changed with the rebuilding of the facilities which begin end january 2008. The worse thing was... more

Great hotel, I stayed for 2 nights breakfast & dinner, had a room with loch view and balcony. Great views and the room was lovely and spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. The food was amazing with plenty of choices to cater for everyone. Like the last review the Lamb was amazing, meat just fell... more

I booked this hotel as a birthday present for my partner through Visitscotland on a dinner bed and breakfast rate. When the hotel found out it was my partner's birthday we were given a complimentary upgrade to a loch view room with balcony. On arrival we were impressed with the hotel's location and stunning views on offer. Our room was... more
