I hate writing critical reviews, but the point of TripAdvisor is to help other travellers so here goes. The staff is fine, particularly the lady who does the cleaning who is really lovely, welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel itself needs a thorough renovation. The wallpaper is ripped in parts (breakfast room), and hangs off the wall (bedrooms). In one... More

Fab hotel, excellent service, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, meals are freshly prepared, good value and great flavour. I used this hotel as it is near to my sister's home, I needed to be near her so I could attend her husband'sfuneral in Ayr. The staff were sympathetic and kind. The hotel is located very near to the beautiful Ayr... More

We stayed here from 25th October for 2 nights. Our room was huge with a lovely view of the tree lined avenue, The bed was comfortable and the room warm bathroom big with lots of big fluffy towels. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first evening, the home made soup was hot and tasty served with hot crusty... More

My wife, toddler & I had a one night stop over here in July. The room was lovely & big. The hotel was beautiful with a nice bar & garden area which my child loved as he was well catered for in it. Breakfast was really nice & no complaints. A bit of a walk to the centre but only... More

Only stayed the one night whilst attending a function in Ayr but was surprised at how good the hotel was given the price that we paid. The hotel is housed in what I imagine was a former upper class family home, it has a large (free) car park and a beer garden and children;s play area in the well tended... More

We chose this place because of it's good price and it looked cute. It was cute on the outside and even nicer on the inside. Our room was spacious and the tub was lovely. Comfortable and clean bed. We did have a minor issue where the BBQ outside in the yard blew up at 2:00 in the morning, resulting in... More

We had a delightful late lunch in the lovely dining room of the hotel. Wonderful value at £5-95 for a very well cooked and well presented meal. Staff were polite, friendly and efficient. Service was excellent. The hotel itself is full of character, with gorgeous period features. This is definitely on our 'return to' list as we visit Ayr regularly.

I visited this hotel for the race weekend with a large party of people, the manager Gail was fantastic and could not help and accomodate us all enough. Her staff were brilliant and even took us into town when the taxis were unavailable. Great food at such a great price, all in all the hotel is 5 star and we... More
