I hate writing critical reviews, but the point of TripAdvisor is to help other travellers so here goes. The staff is fine, particularly the lady who does the cleaning who is really lovely, welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel itself needs a thorough renovation. Fab hotel, excellent service, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, meals are freshly prepared, good value and great flavour. We stayed here from 25th October for 2 nights. Our room was huge with a lovely view of the tree lined avenue, The bed was comfortable and the room warm bathroom big with lots of big fluffy towels. Stay here alot came fault it love it that much I so want my wedding here in 18 mths time, if it's not booked up, so many good memories over the past two yrs, the staff r Fab Gayle is such a great person and I'm glad Ibe been meet her ccause it the best wee place

Only stayed the one night whilst attending a function in Ayr but was surprised at how good the hotel was given the price that we paid. We had a delightful late lunch in the lovely dining room of the hotel. Wonderful value at £5-95 for a very well cooked and well presented meal. Staff were polite, friendly and efficient. Service was excellent. The hotel itself is full of character, with gorgeous period features. This is definitely on our 'return to' list as we visit Ayr regularly.

I visited this hotel for the race weekend with a large party of people, the manager Gail was fantastic and could not help and accomodate us all enough.
