Stayed in March 2008. Location This hotel is on the outskirts of Ayr and very easy to find. Its about 10 mins by taxi from Ayr town centre and the same to Prestwick town centre and a few minutes more to Prestwick airport. For Ayr racecourse its ideal about 5 mins away by taxi and about 15 mins walk along... more

I normally stay short stops in Premier Travel Inns but have used Travelodge in the past. This hotel is modern and recently built. The newer style rooms are now very basic no frills boxes but even more basic than the travelodges of before. They remind me of the interior of mobile homes. The furniture is very spartan and open with... more

I stayed for three nights as I was in Scotland from Canada for a friends wedding. There were other friends of mine staying as well all arrving at seperate times. With no phones in the rooms it not only made it difficult to get a hold of everyone but aslo was a security concern for myself as a single female... more

Stayed there for one night. Clean, with pleasant staff. It's not very practical if you don't have a car, but buses pass nearby. No food at the hotel, but there's a Subway opposite. The Frankie and Benny's that they mention on their web site doesn't open till 11 - no good for breakfast. more

We stayed here before flying out from Prestwick Airport on a Friday night. Very helpful Receptionist and it is obviously a brand spanking new hotel (all fixtures and fittings fresh and good ~ and a lift!), but a noisy location and we were right next to a corridor fire door. So my husband was kept awake by other guests clanking... more

The new Ayr Travelodge is well situated and easy to find from the airport. It does back onto the main road but it was quieter than I thought it would be, it seemed to be almost brand new so everything felt clean and fresh. The window is able to be opened which is always good. We booked our stay using... more

Great value (we booked £26 deal per night). We stayed Fri & sat nights. There were only rooms left at side nearest road. Traffic noise was more or less cut out by good insulation so no problems there. Very clean. Very helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again. more

Good rooms, plenty of space, bit noisy from being next to main road - I'd avoid ground floor. Specifics - Friends had someone walk into their room in middle of night - reception could give no reason on why this happened. Night porter was fairly rude about our group not having a quiet chat in the front lounge before retiring... more

The new Travellodge (opened Dec 2006) is a little out if town but it has a Frankie & Benny's restaurant beside it so you won't go hungry. Down the road about half a mile is a great little bar "The Red Stone"...not much to look at from the outside but very friendly & has a fantastic beer garden. For breakfast... more
