The Ship Inn, Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland is one of the oldest pubs in the area - around 200 years old or thereabouts - the current owner (Ian Murray) has had the pub now for a number of years and his 2 sons both work with Ian.

The food is great (no chips!!!), good portions, quite a large varied menu with daily specials, goods prices, great staff, very busy, no reservations but leave your name on a list (waiting period never seems to be long).

In 2005 the Ship Inn won the best pub in Scotland award and deservedly so - well worth a visit if you're ever in the area
