We booked a standard room for a two night stay after a nearby wedding. When we arrived we were disappointed with the room as it was very 1970s decoration with fancy curtains and border and what looked an old bed with no valance. It certainly did not look as good as the website pictures. We complained to reception and to... More

Myself and my husband stayed here last week. We were given the Arran Suite which was superb. All the staff are very nice and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us. We had an excellent meal and wine and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Would definetley recommend this hotel. It should be five star. Marie and John White.

Stayed 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast and had a wonderful time. Location brilliant, the sea front and the town within easy walking distance. Room very spacious and meals excellent. Useful leisure facilities so could fit in a swim and steam room. Service at the bar, waiting staff and reception was first class. Will definitely go back!

Receptionist and staff all very friendly, cheerful and helpful . Rooms are a bit "olde worlde" but are large and spacious and have all the mod cons you would expect in any hotel room. The room was clean and the furniture is old but very functional, and the bed very comfortable - one of the best night's sleep i have... More

We were delighted to see how close the hotel was to the sea which meant while we were eating breakfast we got to stare out at a beautiful view and then go for a wonder before leaving! The staff were so helpful, we needed to arrive early so we could change after a 5 hour drive before we went to... More

We booked this for an overnight stay- two rooms, as we were attending a family wedding at the nearby Brig o Doon Hotel. We arrived far too early for access to the room but had a coffee etc while we waited- which wasn't long -the staff prioritized our rooms & let us in early so we could change - as... More

This is a difficult review. The hotel is well placed to visit Ayr and the coast, the location can not be faulted. We had room 14 which was lovely and big, amazing bed and a great sized bath. There was mould in the bathroom and water left in the kettle but the WiFi was excellent, the TV was a good... More

A Sunday lunch date - staff were welcoming though the restaurant was empty. Good selection on the menu . with starters £6.95 , and mains around £13.95, steaks upwards of £20. Glass of house white at £4.95. Nice surroundings with views out to the beach and Arran. Food nicely cooked and well presented, with selection of vegetables. I ordered poached... More

At 79GBP a night, one is usually not expecting the Taj Mahal. Yet, this hotel was a wonderful respite for weary bones on a golf trip through Scotland with a bunch of the guys. The toms were fine, clean and spacious. The shower was one of the best you will find anywhere at 5x the price. The mattress and furnishings... More

What a cracker of a find ... it was a last minuted decision to stay in Ayr, on our way up to Edinburgh. We had a free evening and wanted to stay somewhere by the sea, which was not as far as Edinburgh, so we opted for Ayr. We were lucky enough that the weather was glorious that day, so... More
