One star for the location, one for the lobby bar area. Rooms are tiny, no air conditioning, on a busy street so if you open your window the traffic keeps you awake. Old building, old rooms and tiny inefficient elevators. Too bad, nice staff, could be a great spot if they re-did the rooms.

Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay at the hotel. I believe that the room you stayed in will be one of our compact rooms used for single occupancy. Whilst they may be smaller in size, they do still benefit from a double bed and are perfect for an overnight stay. We do have other room... More

Stayed here for one night. On the approach to the hotel I thought oh my god what have we booked into the building looks awful from the outside. Check in was a bit slow two staff dealing with one party in front of us. The room was ok, I've stayed in better mercure hotels, the safe didn't work, no complimentary... More

Stayed for 2 nights at the Mercure Ayr, like other comments the bathroom was urgently in need of a refurb. 2015 and the overhead shower was pathetic, the tap in the sink dripped continuously and we left our room at 11am on the first morning and returned at 3pm room had not been serviced, we were tired so hung the... Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback albeit of a negative nature. We shall use your comments to improve our facilities where immediately possible. I have asked the maintenance team to investigate the leaky tap in your room. I am unsure as to why your room was not serviced on the first morning. If your 'Do Not Disturb' sign was... More

Whilst greeted with a warm welcome after driving 264 miles from Dornock we then went into our rooms. I wouldn't have let a dog stay in our bathroom. No bath towels at all, had to ask reception for some. Bathroom needs a complete refurb. Carpet, skirting so and curtains dirty. Left room to go to bar after being in room... More

We had a great deal of two nights B and B with dinner thrown in for one night only, this was£140, you would struggle to stay in a travelodge for that price! You get what you pay for and that just happens to be a good room, good bedding, a decent bathroom, lovely friendly staff and a hotel that is... More

We were visiting friends and family and in the area so location was important to us. You have to pay for parking but it wasn't expensive. Hotel is quite presentable and our room was clean and quite modern although the bathroom could do with an update. Bar and restaurant quite smart but the leisure areas and where the golf simulator...
