Well situated in centre of town, handy for shops, restaurants and bars, yet still quiet enough. Good-sized room and comfortable bed. Bathroom (in Room 665) could do with some refurbishment (badly fitting toilet seat, gap around bath panel), but otherwise clean and adequate.

As the hotel is going through upgrading and with only one lift in operation you would have to wait some time for the lift as at this time of year the hotel is busy although it was not a problem for ourselves as we could use the stairs. The rooms are also being upgraded with new televisions which unfortunately do... More

Stayed here for 1 night using an itison voucher which included a bottle of wine, overnight stay and breakfast. On arrival, met by a lovely receptionist who was very informative. Headed up to our room which was on 6th floor with a view of the sea! So very pleased. Bottle of wine was already chilling in ice bucket when we... More

We have stayed in the Mercure Hotel in Ayr many times and it just gets better except for trivialities like the Welcome Pack of water and biscuits not being replaced as necessary. I suppose expenses have to be trimmed in this age of austerity. Dinner a bit expensive for what you get but all is forgiven when you arrive for... More

On a business trip to Ayr with my mum, we stayed in this hotel for one night. We arrived about 3pm and was already confused about the car park! Once we got in the hotel, the lobby seemed nice. We were greeted by Neil who was duty manager for the day. We checked in and asked if our room was... More
