We stayed here as part of a large extended family group for a wedding nearby. If I could, I'd give six stars for service - I have rarely met staff who are so helpful, and friendly with it. The food was excellent - we ate in one night and the kitchen and waiting staff coped admirably with a party of... More

We stayed at the Chestnuts for a wedding over multiple days. I have to admit, based on past experiences, I was not overly excited about a multi-day stay. However, I was HAPPILY SURPRISED! The Chestnuts have really come along leaps and bounds over the past couple years. Our room was beautiful. The bed, although way too soft for my taste,... More

We have just spent what will go down as one of the best nights we have ever spent at a hotel. Fromm booking to check out, nothing was a problem. The bar and restaurant were first class, and even our youngest don who is very fussy was able to enjoy his food. All in we couldn't fault the hotel. Well... More

We had a two night stay in this hotel. Everything was fine but what made it special was the attitude of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate later than planned, added two to our party at short notice, asked for taxis etc. Every request was greeted with a smile and Hey Presto! every wish was granted. Add... More

Stayed here in October 2014. The first impression on arrival was that I had arrived at a posh country house with old fashioned gravel drive - on entering the hotel, the impression was of a old fashioned Inn. Not particularly off putting but the reception area really was in the centre of the corridor between the restaurant, bar and kitchen... More

The most customer centric hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Obviously I could pick up on some small negatives however this is totally outweighed by the quality of the staff and their attitude in making sure the customer's stay is perfect. Any request however odd is viewed with absolute delight in being able to accommodate. We... More

We stayed here on the personal recommendation of friends in Ayr. Great friendly welcome and cases carried up to the room for us as we checked in. Full of old world charm and a warm friendly hotel. Nice room, lots of light and a nice comfortable bed. There are some peeling bits of paper in the bathroom , by the... More

Recently visited for dinner. The atmosphere was very nice and although very busy the seating was arranged so that none was feeling cramped. The menu was vast and have a good choice of both moderate and upper end prices. The service was very good. Being attentive but not annoying. The food was presented to a high standard and was reasonably... More

We were bowled over by the customer service. Everyone was so friendly and helpful without getting under your feet. The room was perfect- clean, conservatively decorated with plenty of storage if staying for a few nights. The ensure was clean, mould free and had an in bath shower. We did not eat dinner at Chestnuts but it is obviously very... More
