Did not stay at the hotel, but were in for a family meal on Sunday and they had a large menu, although not a great deal that jumped out at me. The bedrooms are comfortable though a little small. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and the service was good. There are plenty of choices on the dinner menu. There is also a good selection for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

Went in for lunch and decided to order off the light lunch menu. Portions are really a bit too small considering the price. Ordered a diluting juice with tap water and was charged £2. Just a bit tight on their part. I said so and was told that's just the price. You can't charge 2 £2 pounds for a dash... More

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights (19/2/15-22/2/15), as I was over for a family event. First impressions were great, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, the hotel was cosy, our room (room 4) was spacious, very clean and the bathroom was also clean and nicely decorated. The double bed was two single beds kept together,... More

A well run friendly hotel. Lovely bar area with log fire, real ales, no problem eating in the bar area with full restaurant menu. Stayed for 1 night while on business. Will book again when next in area. Had a single room, small but clean. Bed was soft and squeaky. Full breakfast in the morning excellent. If you are in... More

If your looking for a private room for a party of up to 18 then the Garden Room at the Chestnuts is the place to be. A beautiful bright room with conservatory attached provides a light airy atmosphere for any group. The food and service is superb with with all needs catered for.

I go for dinner to Chestnuts every time I go back to Ayr and it is consistently excellent. Great menu, high quality, fresh, homemade food (I am a vegetarian and never struggle to find something to eat! ) extremely pleasant staff and great service. Highly recommended!

Had a really nice dinner here. Booked last minute & they were happy to squeeze us in. Nice hotel, nice staff, moved through to the bar after dinner next to the great coal fire on a cold winter night. Will definately be back. Thanks

Luncheon to celebrate a great lady's 90th birthday! Menu was excellent, great variety to choose from. Food and service outstanding for approx 36 people. Prosecco was plentiful and wine service continued throughout the luncheon. Highly recommend
