We stayed at this hotel as I wished to have easy access to the Ayrshire coast. It is an impressive building with plenty of car parking space. This is not the hotels fault but on our arrival at the car park three young men were using the corner of the hotel as a urinal. However on entering we were greeted with... more

I stayed in this hotel a few times last year and then again in January of this year and then this week and OH MY GOD what a change!! And not for the better either!! For starters the staff all seem to be new. There was a few i recognised, a girl with red hair who was there last year... more

This was our 3rd mini break to the hotel and each time we have found it excellent value for money. We got a brilliant deal for 4 nights. Every time we go we know the room won't be perfect but we only sleep there. The staff are excellent and can't do enough to help, all other comments should be taken... more

Apart from reception, most staff seemed to be East European, however they were... more

We have just had a 2 night stay at the Station Hotel on a bed breakfast and evening meal basis and I am surprised by the negative comments listed on this site. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The food was 1st class with a good choice to suit most people and was served quickly on nice hot plates.... more

Reading other reviews, yes the hotel is an old building, old fashioned lift but I cannot fault my stay in any way. We were booked in for an overnight (Saturday) stay prior to flying abroad for xmas. It served the purpose well. Greeted by a very pleasant chatty receptionist, was an excellent location for strolling the shops, and they have... more

I stayed for 4 nights, it was awful. Decor in the Hotel reminded me of the film 'The Shining'. It had the oldest lift in the world which wouldn't work if someone left the shutters open. Food was bad. Room wasn't cleaned properly each day. The TV did not work properly. Complained 3 times, eventually they came up,tried to convince me... more
