The single traveler gets the worst of this hotel. Single travelers are placed on the 3rd floor (very hot) in south facing rooms, next to the rail. I was unable to sleep at all because of the heat and the noise from the rail below. When the trains were not waking me the workers at the rail station were shouting.... more

just returned from 4 night stay and as usual all was well. Yes the hotel is old but the clue is in the pictures people! My son loves the old fashioned lift. Staff fantastic and food sublime. Yes old fashioned but again look at the pictures people. Clean room, beds, fresh big and small towels (every day). Unfortunately we lost... more

The hotel is requiring upgrading, as decor , especially in the room and ensuite are shabby. We arrived late on Friday evening, to find there were horrible drunk men hurling abuse as we arrived, a noisy hen party then arrived as we were entering the hotel, this only made our stay worse! Night porter pleasant, had our details ready on... more

just returned from one of our many visits to this hotel and once again we were not disapointed except for the toaster being missing from the breakfast room this is a means of getting fresh warm toast when you want it and also a chance to chat to fellow guests. Staff as usual very friendly and helpfull. For the price... more

This hotel was our base for touring S.W Scotland and was excellent value for money. The only problem was the proximity to the railway and noise of the trains. The staff couldn`t have been more helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. more

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments regarding your stay here with us, I am sorry to hear you felt disappointed as when I spoke to the driver he did not flag up any issues, as if he had done they would certainly of been acted upon immediately. All our guests receive the same menu choices however...
