I pop into the family-run Glen Park Hotel in Miller Road, Ayr on a weekly basis and find it to have a welcoming, relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Real ales and malts abound and the barman/barista is the best in town. Events such as the brewery's Real Ale Festival in September, regular quiz nights and acoustic singalongs provide a genuine, friendly... More

I nipped in to this wee hotel for a coffee while waiting on a business colleague. Un-aware that the kitchen was closed, the young lady offered to make me a quick toasted sandwich. I have to say it was great. A very generous side salad with coleslaw (and a portion of chips which proved to be way too much) For... More

Visited this bar/hotel/restaurant recently and left feeling disappointed as it could be so good. I cannot comment on the food as I have not eaten here but I saw couple of plates brought out and they looked delicious with no complaints from diners. The bar serves its own selection of real ales and has a good selection of other beers... More

Mainly visited here to sample the on-site brewed ale (Ayr brewing company) but had some light lunch also. Staff very polite and helpful and nothing too much bother. Decor is dated but comfortable enough. Bar lunch menu limited but what was on it was plentiful and tasty (although one bake potato was cold in the middle). Ale was superb if... More

I had a great 60th birthday bash at the GlenPark Hotel. The room was just right and very nicely decorated. The buffet was just what I ordered - and loads of it!! A big thank you to Anne and the staff for all their hard work on the night. The hotel also brews it's own beer and has a lovely... More

I really enjoyed my last visit here and was disappointed to read that the Glen Park had closed. However it has re opened (unfortunately I'd booked into somewhere else). The restaurant isn't open for general public use yet, but the bar and hotel are available. So having seen the bar was open again I took advantage of it. There's a... More

Have now eaten here on a number of occasions. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. The real ale which is brewed onsite is also of a very high quality. The food is freshly cooked and they were happy to cook something for my son which was not on the children's menu. Thanks will return.

Beer is indeed good as Ayr Brewing Company virtually brew on the premises ( garage at the side ) however for food this is not a destination. I met some friends here recently for a drink and we decided to have a bite to eat - not my decision but went along with it. Dining room is basic and surroundings... More
