My new husband and I were booked in at the Atholl Palace Hotel for 5 nights for our honeymoon. We stayed there for the first night and were so disappointed. Whilst on a day trip to the Edradour distillery, we happened to stumble across this unassuming pub and stopped for a pint of ale. We were both sitting outside in... more

We stayed at the Moulin Hotel for a short break last week for the fourth year running .As always we enjoyed the friendly staff, lovely food, great atmosphere and good value for money. Rooms are a bit too "tartan" for our taste but comfortable and snug. We know Scotland very well and have stayed all over. The Moulin compares very... more

Reading a couple of the other reviews, i can't help but wonder if we're talking about the same place. If you are looking for a contemporary, anonymous-style hotel, then maybe picking an "inn" in such a charming town as Pitlochry isn't the smartest choice anyway! A major part of the appeal of the place is that it DOES retain a... more

This is the 4th time we have stayed at the Moulin. We have been in the annex 4 times and I have stayed in the hotel twice with my work. I have never found the place to be dirty, in fact the bedding is all pure white cotton as are the towels. This is such a bargain, where else can... more

We stayed at the Moulin Hotel about 5 years ago and had the opportunity of a night in the Pitlochry area so didn't hesitate to book again. We had a superior room with slightly dated decor but it was very spacious, warm, clean and comfy with a lovely deep cast iron bath with endless hot water. We ate in the... more

Stayed for 2 nights DBB and the deal inc flowers (at least £20 worth), bottle of champagne, 3 bottles of Athol Ale bottle conditioned, fudge etc in the room, free glass of wine with diner, liquers after diner on both nights. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very polite and professional but not overbearing. Nothing was a problem for them.... more

This was our second stay at the Moulin for the winter warmer break. We stayed there last year for my 50th birthday and the staff were very helpful, the food was very good, plenty of choice for the five days we were there and at least we could have a laugh with the staff. We had a superior room. The... more

We came to stay at the Moulin after a recommendation from a friend and we were not let down at all. Although we agree that the hotel desperately needs updating (the common rooms look like something from an old peoples home!) we found the rooms clean, the food fantastic and the staff extremely friendly. We stayed on a Sunday and... more

We took my partner's parents here to celebrate a birthday and I was embarrassed to have chosen this hotel. The rooms are grotty and depressing. Whoever decorated them should've gone to Specsavers first. The overall appearance of the hotel is shabby and crying out for a good spruce up. The food was bland and unappetising and was very overpriced. My... more

Don't stay here, unless you are conducting research and want to see all that is wrong with Scotland's hotel sector in one example. Hotel is run down , dirty, smelly, dated and an an absolute disgrace at this money (£105 B&B family room). The literature in the bedroom hadn't been updated since as far back as 2002, bar menu the... more
