The place has a great location for travel by car or train. The staff were at the time largely of other European extraction but the concierge was Scottish and very over worked. Feared the worst after reading the reviews, but found the hotel quite satisfactory. The bedroom, bathroom and bed linen were spotless, and the bed comfortable. Food not Cordon Bleu, but more than adequate. Saw no threadbare carpets likely to trip you up. The hotel was still undergoing refurbishment, but this did not affect us at all. more

Excellent stay room facing gardens on ground floor. Room clean and ample as much hot water as needed . Beds very comfortable and room very quiet. Staff very friendly and pleasent.
