Very pleasantly surprised by our recent stay in this hotel. After reading other reviews we went thinking 'it's only for one night, even if it's bad we'll be fine'. Yes the hotel is covered by scaffolding but once inside you are not aware of this. We assumed we must have been in a refurbished room as it was very clean and... more

The place has a great location for travel by car or train. The staff were at the time largely of other European extraction but the concierge was Scottish and very over worked. My mother is a smoker and thank goodness we could get a smoking room for her. All in all it is one of the best value for money... more

I stayed at the Fisher's Hotel for 2 nights at the end of June. The hotel itself has the potential to be very good - the location is great, the breakfast is substantial, there's plenty of relaxation areas and an adjoining bar. However, there are also some problems - the rooms are very average, the corridors are quite shabby and... more

Thank you for your comments regarding Fishers Hotel. We are also looking forwrad to the completion of the refurbishment which will return the hotel to its former glory. the bar does close at 1am and as you state this is due to previous problems that have occurred resulting in fire alarms etc. I hope we will be able to welcome...

Feared the worst after reading the reviews, but found the hotel quite satisfactory. The bedroom, bathroom and bed linen were spotless, and the bed comfortable. Food not Cordon Bleu, but more than adequate. Saw no threadbare carpets likely to trip you up. The hotel was still undergoing refurbishment, but this did not affect us at all. more

Having read the reviews prior to arriving, we were extremely sceptical, but decided to go and make the most of our night away. On arrival, the hotel does have scaffolding, however surely this suggests work, and should not be a criticism! We recently stayed in a 5*hotel in Edinburgh, which too had building works going on....get over it now! We... more

We stayed at The Fishers Hotel on a twixmas 3 night break. We paid at reception prior to seeing the room. First mistake! We exited the lift on the first floor to be met by threadbare scotch tartan carpet which meandered like a drunken man. I knew what to expect behind the door of room 122 and i was not... more

Arrived at Fishers Hotel in the evening after travelling down through the Cairngorms for one nights stay. Nice location in the centre of Pitlochry. The girl on reception was friendly enough and booked dinner in the hotel for us. Going up to our room - 214 - in the lift, we were immediately struck by the threadbare carpets in the... more
