The youh hostel is up a hill and we were travelling town-to-town on buses and trains. The uphill climb toughened us but it was a grunt. Although you can buy a breakfast, it wasn't great and with so many early and very good cafes in town, we wouldn't bother another time. The essential clean, comfortable bed was fine and the... More

We were very happy that we could find self catering accomodation for 3 nights in August. August is the busiest month in Schotland and you better book ahead. We did except for 3 nights and finding an affordable place to stay proved to be a real challenge. The Pitlochry youth hostel closes between 1100 and 1730; as we happened to... More

we spend one night in this hostel, the staff was friendly and the location is very convenient close to the center of Pitlochry, you can go by walk. The room was clean and he breakfast was good for a small fee. Good recommendation for that area with small budget

Stayed as a couple in a 4 person room. Pros: cleanest kitchen seen in any hostel ever, good lounge rooms (1 for TV and 1 for other) which are social, off street car parking Cons: no free wifi - £6 for 20mins

I was travelling with my husband and we hadn't planned staying here but decided to on our way from Inverness down to Crieff. The town is beautiful and the hostel itself is lovely. The staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great, only a short walk into the town which as previously mentioned is lovely. There... More

Perfect walking distance to downtown. Just be aware that's it is on a hill, therefore getting back is all uphill. Friendly and very helpful staff. Clean and comfy room, ours had an ensuite bathroom/shower, not sure if all rooms do. We stayed in October 2013 and saw the Enchanted Forest.

Great views, lovely friendly staff and easily available facilities. No frills and some refurb would be good but this place does what it says on the tin - and the views are amazing over the town. Also very quiet - we took two small children with us and this is always a concern, but no issues at all.

Aberdeen Academicals' Golf Society chose Pitlochry for our inaugural annual reunion and we were very well looked after by Chris, Pete and Wilma at the Youth Hostel. Great views, clean rooms and common areas and really good catering. Just watch out for the pothole as you turn in to the drive.

Pitlochry YH has incredible views overlooking the town. I had a warm welcome from the manager, who was helpful in telling me where everything was. All of the bedrooms are upstairs, and with subtle steps in between. it's a bit short on car parking. Dining room views are amazing, looking across the Tay Valley, and the town. Kitchen fairly small,... More
