Firstly this review is 100% genuine. I have recently stayed here and found the room to be adequate but nothing special but the hotel is well located in Pitlochry. The bedroom was comfortable but basic and perhaps the TV could be fitted onto the wall as it was uncomfortable watching it below the bed level. There are a lot worse... More

We had a large superior room with ensuite shower and toilet. The ensuite facilities appeared to be very recently refurbished. There was TV and coffee making facilities. On ground floor was a spacious and peaceful lounge. We visited Pitlochry for the Festival Theatre autumn season and will return to Birchwood on our next visit. WiFi patchy in bedroom.

Comfortable, lovely food, with much care over special diet - lovely to be able to be confident about this. Spacious, quiet, friendly. In own grounds, with beautiful trees forming the outlook from most rooms

Beautiful old building, quite old fashioned but comfortable and cosy. Spotlessly clean and well looked after, even had an electric blanket on the bed. Hosts should think about investing in some new pillows. Plentiful, well cooked breakfast including porridge and fresh grapefruit. The hotel is very quiet yet only a few minutes walk from the town and the theatre, there... More

This stunning hotel in Pitlochry must have been really something in its day, and it's lovely to see it restored to its former glory. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast room is magnificent with full bay windows overlooking the garden. Cute period touches include the enormous bell pull on the front door and the dinner gong in the lobby.

If the stresses and strains of life are getting you down, a break at the Birchwood is the perfect way to regain your equilibrium. The Birchwood is a lovely house in a beautiful setting, and provides comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. The food is excellent - hearty, healthy breakfasts, and delicious dinners, which are complemented by a well-chosen and... More

We, a Swedish family, stayed for weekend and we felt very welcome. We got good advices from the host what to do and what to see around the guesthouse. Nice breakfast service. Very relaxed place and a nice hospitality. The wi-fi was weak in some rooms.

Just stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. Just what we wanted from a B+B. A impressive old house immediately on the left as you enter Pitlochry from the south. We found ourselves at ease from the minute we arrived. Welcomed by John, our room was spacious and clean and warm. The breakfast was very good and it must... More

We stayed two nights at the Birchwood and really injoyed our stay. Our twin room was very clean and comfortable. We only had breakfast there and it was excellent. Dinner is available but the staff need to be notified ahead of time. There is a lovely lounge area where there is wifi reception. The staff were quite helpful. The town... More
