Right from the start this was a good experience. When we phoned to book, our host offered to meet us plus luggage at the station, which he did. I asked for a restaurant that they could recommend and one was booked for us - it was really a lovely meal. At breakfast the first day we'd mentioned being interested in... more

We enjoyed our stay here. The welcome was warm and friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from both Pitlochry theatre ( well worth a visit ) and the pleasant town centre. more

On a recent driving tour of Scotland, this was the best bed and breakfast that we visited. The Victorian house was charming, the rooms clean, comfortable and well appointed, and the food was excellent. But even more important, Jan and Gerry provided a sincerely warm and welcoming atmosphere. They went beyond all expectations to make our visit to the Pitlochry... more

Food and facilities excellent, seconded only by the personal touch of the host and hostess, Gerry and Janice. A great place to stay when in that part of Scotland. Can't wait to return! more

This must be the best B&B in Pitlochry! What a great find, we only planned to stay one night but changed our mind and stayed two instead. Janice and Gerry are true hosts, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are lovely and very clean with absolutely everything you need. Breakfast was beautiful, fresh fruit and juice and one of... more

During our 12 day trip to the Highlands of Scotland we stayed in B&B's. Without question the nicest one we found was the Poplars of Pitlochry owned by Janice and Gerry Tait. We happened upon the place in our tour around the very quaint town. The property stood out, but after a brief walk through, the Hostess, Janice won our... more

Beds mattresses are of average quality, bath basin for washing; no ensuite bathrooms in rooms. There is a slightly long walk into town for an elderly person and the B&B is on a hillside which makes for a fairly nice view but very difficult to walk around. A car to go anywhere is a necessity. There are other lodgings in... more

One of the happiest memories of my trip to Scotland was my stay at Poplars. I received the warmest Scottish welcome and my room was more comfortable than being at home! Janice and Gerry’s local knowledge is excellent and made great suggestions what to see based on my interests and time available. My next trip will certainly include another visit... more
