The food, dining room, lounge and the hosts are the highlight here. Our room was fine, but nothing special; that's not to say there was anything wrong with it, just that the other things stood out more. Recommended. more

My sister and I holidayed in Scotland from Australia and stayed at Poplars for 3 nights, we found Janice and Gerry thoughtful and considerate hosts. We were met with a warm and friendly welcome on arrival and their tips on places to visit was invaluable. The overall decor of their establishment was stylish and homely. The dining room for breakfast... more

We stayed here when going to a friend's wedding in Atholl Palace. Upon our arrival we were made to feel very welcome and this continued for the rest of our time here. The rooms were nice and comfortable and no shortage of hot water. The following morning we were treated to a great breakfast with nothing too much trouble with... more

We have been to the Poplars twice and going for a 3rd time shortly, we have a fantastic time when we go there. Janice and Gerry are so helpfull, would do anything to help you enjoy your stay. Its like a home from home. The breakfast, rooms and house are fantastic. We will never go to another Guest house when... more

The owners Janice and Gerry made us so welcome. They offerred advice on what attractions to visit and how to get there. The room had en-suite facilities and was exceptionally comfortable with tea making facilities and hairdryer. The choices of food at breakfast are too many to mention but I have to recommend the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. All... more

What a lucky find! loved it so much! The best night's sleep we've had in ages. Run by the nicest people you could wish to meet. A lovely old building, with modernised bedrooms. Thourghly refurbished to a VERY high standard in keeping with the original style of the building. Great location, lots to see and do! We can't recommend it... more

We enjoyed the 2 nights we spent here. The breakfast were good and the owners friendly. We did not a lot of attention, but saw them in action with other people. Great view. A little surprised to have our "en suite" across the hall. Hard to fumble with cloths and a key and turning the door knob when showering, not... more

Based on the recommendation of friends, my wife & I selected the Poplars for a recent overnight stay in Pitlochry. For us it ticked all the right boxes and represented Scottish Hospitality at it's best. The house itself is virtually in the centre of the town in a quiet elevated position (see photo) which gives excellent views of the surrounding... more

This is the first chance we have had since emigrating to new Zealand to feed back our fantastic experience at Poplars. In August 2008 we decided to get married in Pitlochry before we started our new lives here in NZ. We found Poplars website and it looked just ideal for our purpose, we were not disappointed. We travelled from London... more
