A gem of a place. We booked our three bedrooms by telephone at short notice and this was efficiently completed by email. Our welcome was very warm. The bedrooms were spacious, light and comfortable. We had a comfortable bed and the room had room for a pair of armchairs and plenty of storage space. Inside, the house is beautifully decorated... More

My family, ranging in ages from 8 to 85, spent a memorable week at Fasganeoin Country House in Pitlochry. Our every need was met by the delightful owners of this charming hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable and tastefully decorated. The breakfast menu offered a variety of options. Service was very attentive. The owners provided us with many helpful... More

Lovely house, nice grounds, very quiet, reasonable breakfast and attentive friendly host. No complaints there. However on being shown to our 2 single rooms we were surpried to find that neither was en-suite. To be honest I hadn't checked this our beforehand as the web-site and price gave me no reason to believe otherwise, nowadays you'd expect en.suite in a "cuntry... More

As a lone traveller I booked a single room however i was upgraded to a double when I got there which was a pleasant surpise however the lack of a TV was disappointing for me, as as a lone traveller there is nobody to talk to in your room. The hotel has arangements with two local restaurants for a free... More

This country house hotel is good for anyone who wishes to have peace and solitude, and is good for walkers and cyclists.(Walkers have a tray in the room for mucky boots, though anyone who likes a lot of television is likely to be disappointed. If they wish to have entertainment, there are a few restaurants nearby,as well as nice views and pitlochry festival... More

Just a block from the river and a block from downtown Pitlochry (and right across from the distillery), this is a great location. Norbert was an excellent host and took great care of us. A stately manor home, we feel like we stepped back in time. One note, our twin beds were a bit "sway back." Excellent breakfast.

Having stayed at this guest house over the weekend I would most definitely recommend it! Beautifully situated country house, excellent service and attention to detail. Owner and staff very welcoming and obliging and the breakfast was excellent... Great for a weekend or longer stay and would enjoy staying again in the future.

This is a lovely old country house, family run and german speaking for our friends ( from Dusseldorf) The rooms were big, with antique furniture, ensuite bathroom, tea making facilities and we didn't mind not having a tv at all, although you could watch it in the huge visitors lounge. The breakfast was amazing (silver service) and the little anecdotes... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open from Mid-March to late October, Fasganeoin is an ideal choice for a holiday in the highlands. A warm and friendly atmosphere is the essence of our small hotel which is full of old fashioned charm and character. The hotel stands in one acre of mature grounds overlooking The Tummel Valley and hills beyond. The house is of special interest to Japanese. It is the house of architect Thomas Renny, whose great friend was 'Souseki Natsume' the great poet.(Renny was also a timber merchantto Japan & Russia in the 1800's with a fleet of ships in port Glasgow). Renny died in 1899. We have 8 individually furnished letting bedrooms with hospitality tray and hairdryer in each. Relax in our peaceful lounge overlooking the garden with a coffee and home-baking. Weather permitting, we are happy to serve you outside in the garden, if you wish. We offer secure private parking and a lock-up bicycle shed is available for our guests' use. We speak German fluently (Recommended in German publication : Baedeker Guide) We have cared for 'Fasganeoin' for over 40 years. Small groups welcome for hill walking. First hand information of hill and surrounding area walks given. We are featured in 'The Hidden Places of Scotland' by Travel Publishing Ltd on page 510. We look forward to be able to welcome you to "Fasganeoin." ... more   less
