Our "Executive" room was large and comfortable, with a few quirks. Absolutely no closet or wardrobe or any kind, just one small rod against one wall to hang a couple of garments. Poor housekeeping service; repeatedly failed to replace towels, toilet paper, etc. as required. Good food and service in the dining rooms. Proprietors Duncan and Claire are very hardworking,... more

I stayed here for work in March with two colleagues. I had an Executive Double room - quite pricey but very large spacious room with huge bed, a sofa etc and a nice bathroom. My colleagues were very put off by their first viewing of the hotel but were ok once they saw the rooms. I knew it would be... more

I stayed here with my partner for a night. I read through the other reviews on TripAdvisor and i was looking forward to staying. However after returning and reading the reviews again i feel as though we didn't receive half the service others did. We paid for an executive room which was big but not what other people were describing... more

Stayed in this hotel recently on a city break...price was reasonable, service was fair, location was very good but accomodation was very dated and somewhat shabby! Room was warm and comfortable but hall was "foosty" smelling and evidence of cracking paintwork and disrepair was more than evident..! more

We visited this hotel for a 2 night break in March 09. The staff were very nice and the room was lovely. Room 20 if anybody wants to book! Only 2 things to complain about. The food was expensive, however, the drink was extortionate in my opinion. £8 for a glass of wine and a pint of cider. The hotel... more

Stayed here on 25/09 for a single night as a place to stay after going to see a gig in the concert hall. Very clean however we asked for a double bed but instead got two singles pushed together which wasn't that great although it did mean I finally had some space to sleep rather than be pushed out but... more

We stayed in this hotel for an overnight stay away from "the kids!" The room was spotless and very comfortable-the best hotel bed i've slept in for a long while. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We went out to eat so cant comment on the food at dinner, but it smelt delicious and breakfast in the morning was... more

I am travelling on business and, with little else to do after an evening meeting, started writing this Review on my bed using the hotel free Wifi - which works very well. It is a typical small hotel but one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in! Staff are very welcoming, informative and helpful - genuinely interested in you... more
