The location couldn't be better - the river Tay on one side, town centre shops another and the museum and art gallery too. My room very comfortable, clean single with views of the Tay (room 24). Food good, service pleasant, nice relaxed atmosphere. Only gripes - my room on second floor but no lift and the sash window in the... more

Another gem in Scotland with a great location. This hotel oozes charm for me with silver cutlery for breakfast which is the best of food. It may appear dated to some but it would look horrendous if modernised. I will be back sometime for a special occasion. more

This is the second year we have stayed at the Royal George during the summer. While I was somewhat disappointed last year, I appreciate some positive changes were made to improve our stay this time. I still found good and bad points with several things. I found no fault with our room. Our room's amenities, however, are still not what... more

We booked into the Royal George last minute and absolutely loved it! The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, everyone had time for a chat to ask how our day had been. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts and fruit juices. Then a choice of cooked breakfast to include Full Scottish,... more

We have friends who have been staying at the Royal George every summer for years. My husband and I finally decided to join them. Although it's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink in the pub/lounge area, there are a few issues I had: Positives 1. Location--seriously, you can't get much better in Perth. Central, convenient and beautiful... more

Stayed here as someone else's guests - had I been paying for it myself I would not have stayed in the room we were given (think it was room 22) which had an enormous damp patch on the wall. Under no circumstances should a room in this state ever be let. Rest of the room was fine. Food was OK,... more

Food above average, room very comfortable and bar prices reasonable. Locals use for lunch etc at weekends. Lots of space and very central for shops. Would return. more

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend and were delighted wit the hotel and the staff. Having had a few European trips in the last few months it made me proud, having forgotten, how well my fellow Scots do hospitality. Really, nobody does it better. Our room had a great view of the Perth Bridge and the River... more

Beautiful views of the Tay from a modern and elegantly furnished comfortable room. I was made to feel very comfortable and welcome by the staff who did their utmost to ensure my stay was enjoyable. I have stayed in a lot of hotels throughout my travels due to work and I can safely say that a good nights sleep followed... more
