Have used this hotel on several separate occasions. It's always clean, the showers are great and it's relatively quiet, so you get a good night's sleep. If you book well ahead, you can get rooms from £19 a night, which isn't bad. There's an adjacent restaurant and a Macdonalds on site too. more

Clean, comfortable. Had to wait 10 minutes for reception staff to check us in. Was sitting at entrance on cigarette break. I was ringing the reception throughout. Hope the hotel chain does better. more

Overall, the Salutation gives good value for money. Our room was not plush, but was very pleasant, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice. Stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted to walk in the area. It is basic but very clean with pristine white linen on the beds. It is excellent if all you need is somewhere clean to sleep at night as we did. Great value if you get a special offer like £19 for a room. It does the job... more

As part of a cheap Travelodge Tour of Scotland, we stayed in this Hotel - booking it for £9 on the internet.
