Whilst we are surrounded with change, often at bewildering speed, many seek havens of reliability and tradition. Thus we were concerned that one of Perth's beacons of stability, The Parklands, had changed "hands". What to do, go to a large anonymous change or give the new regime a chance? Changes there certainly have been but they have all been for... more

Firstly an excellent location for one staying in the beautiful city of Perth with the station just around the corner (no worries about noise), car hire firm around the corner (Arnold Clark), the beautiful park within a couple of minutes walk and the town centre within five minutes walk. I booked the superior rooms which were delightful with all the... more

We booked a two night stay and I was a very disappointed I have to say. Some staff were a little intimidating, I had no hot water to have a shower as the supply fed the whole property, only exlpanation really is if more than one guest is showering then wait your turn for water. Had to boil kettle on... more

Responding to some recent comments on this site. I would note that we offer a very extensive breakfast menu served both in the Restaurant and tray service in the rooms. Guests can choose whatever they wish from the main menu and have it served in the room, including Orange Juice, Toast and Jam etc. All tea and coffee making facilities...

We stayed 2 nights in mid-week. It was very easy to find and on arrival the car park is well sized, tidy, and on a slope. The hotel exterior looks smart and there are stylish outside tables and chairs in a tiered garden next to a park. There is a railway bridge next to the hotel but we didn't notice... more

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour of Scotland, primarily because of their website and the link to tripadvisor on it. As a group of four people we found the hotel more than met our expectations. As stated previously the staff were great and we were well looked after during our stay. The dining at the hotel... more

This hotel has an excellent location and staying here should have been a very pleasant experience. After reading earlier traveller revues I decided to pay more for a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the South Inch in preference to one at the rear overlooking the railway station. My booking was made directly with the hotel by telephone... more

We stayed three nights on a DB & B in the Athol room. The room was very large well equipped Cd, Sky TV etc. The bathroom was large and with excellent shower over bath. The staff were very friendly and very efficient. We ate in the Bistro. The menu was reasonably extensive and the quality excellent. There was good wine... more

We stayed as a group of 6 at this hotel over the open and we were all so impressed with both the hotel and the staff at the place. We could not fault the service or the rooms during the 5 nights we stayed, they were very happy to organise things for us. We ate dinner once during our stay... more

We arrived at the hotel on Sat 28th July and duly checked in that afternoon. After an evening in town, meal & cinema, we returned to the hotel at 11.00pm, we intended to have a nightcap before retiring, which we did do. We were however told that the bar was now closed for the night, this was at 11.30pm. On... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night only and it was disappointing the room was uncomfortably warm and on opening the windows the fan from the kitchen was located outside our window and both steam and the smell was unbearable. The breakfast was limited in choice .We spent a week in Scotland and stayed in beautiful friendly hotels however... more
