Visited the MacDonald Arms recently on a high recommendation through a friend. From the accommodation being immaculate and very comfortable with en suite facilities. The welcome from the fabulous couple who own and run the hotel(kirsty & Euan), Made us want to stay for dinner. The foods is incredible and made fresh to order. Fabulous breakfast was the best start... More

On my recent visit to Scotland I decided to break up my journey and stay in the Perth area. I am so pleased that I chose the Macdonald Arms. Kirsten and Ewan are the perfect hosts and as has been said before in another review, nothing too much trouble. It is a welcoming pub/hotel and rooms are at the back... More

A very nice young couple own and run this pub/hotel the rooms are on the ground floor with ample parking space we had room 4 which overlooked the car-park, the 2 things I would mention is more electric power points in the room, especially where you sit with the vanity mirror, also I found the bed a tad hard, but... We loved this place and most of all, we loved our hosts Euan and Kirsten made us feel totally at home everywhere in their little hotel. This young couple is ever improving the Macdonald Arms Hotel. While outside of Perth's inner city, it is close enough to make visiting the town easy. Now, if you are looking for super luxury,... More

Overall a nice little village Hotel, easy to find in a good location with easy access to many parts. 10 minutes from Blairgowrie, 5 minutes Perth and 30 mins to Dundee. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Being honest, more a pub/guest house than hotel, they appear to have recently restructured to increase rooms, now 8. We had a... More

What a wonderful hotel to stay in ! The staff were absolutely brilliant and very very friendly. We were made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble ! The room may not have been the largest but that in no way affected our stay ! The evening meals were great and we were greeted with a smile... More

My single room was small but perfectly formed. Evidently it had been recently been renovated, as it was almost clinically clean, with fresh white walls and stainless steel fittings. I had dinner in the hotel and it was a good choice, as everything was clearly home cooked. Some of my fellow diners appeared to be non-residents - including a mature... More

Friendly greeting on our arrival, excellent first impression. The decor in our room was a bit mismatched but everything was very clean and bed comfortable, unfortunately the curtains did let in way too much light, meaning an early wake up. The shower was good and powerful. Breakfast was really tasty with good quality produce. The small bar was cosy and... More

We stay here for three nights on our way up to the north of Scotland. We were greeted by the friendly owner who showed us to our room, which was clean and tidy. The only slight niggle was the pillows were rather flat nice plump ones would have looked more inviting. Breakfast was served with a friendly good morning smile from... More
