Stayed for two nights while in Perth for business. The location is perfect if coming by train and the building has an impressive edifice, but beyond the doors things are less ideal. Enthusiastic and courteous staff can't make up for rooms in which the decor has seen much better days. Cracks in the walls and furniture you would be surprised... More

This was a quick business trip for 2 nights with a colleague. The rooms were fair value for the money, basic but adequate. The food however, woeful! Breakfast was pitiful & I even had to ask another diner for the bottle of brown sauce! We ate in the beautifully appointed Garden Bar, but the food was shocking & expensive, we... More

My wife and I arrived late on Monday 6th May and received a lovely welcome from the Australian lady on Reception (who has now learned to say 'Lift' instead of 'Elevator'!). Our room was really clean and everything worked as it should, plus there was a nice big TV. We were amazed that in such a huge old building their... More

Good room rate at £29 for a single. Hotel bills itself as a "boutique" hotel but its not. Rooms are cheaply furnished, dirty and in need of a refurb. Main areas not so tired but are still out of date. Service is, however, good

Staying here briefly overnight on business, booked it up as a last minute thing. Its a Grand old Hotel, enormous place, with some real character. I was a bit concerned when I first showed up that it may have really started to get run down. I was pleasantly surprised by the large and bright public rooms and especially by my... More

Good hotel located next to railway station and main shopping area. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Not all that impressed with the menu and the breakfast was very average. Choice of beer and ale very poor unless you like American beer. What happened to all the beer from Scotland

This hotel is a mixture of excellent in some areas and mediocre in others. The bedroom and bathroom were large and very clean and had lovely towels and all the necessary toileteries together with a bottle of,water, fresh bouquet of flowers and a chocolate each. It was such a pity that on enquiring what the fish of the day was... More
