Just spent 5 nights at the lodge and had a wonderful time. It is set in a stunning location with some great views. The staff were very friendly, polite and worked hard to make our stay comfortable. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, it was small but more than adequate. The food was very tasty and the portions... More

I visited Gulabin lodge as part of a outdoor adventure week with my company and I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed. Upon arrival we were provided with a disappointing and small meal considering the distance we had traveled. From the on set the owner, as I understand an ex marine who still believes himself to be in the... More

Many thanks to Mr Stucker for his comments/review. As an owner of a successful business I am obliged to reply to any comments but I would first point out the rules of Trip Advisor, being as follows; Keep it professional and courteous. Don't identify a guest by name or other characteristics. Don't use profanity, threats, accusations, or insults. Calling myself... More

Everything was fine - would rate it "good" if I could. Everything clean and tidy. I think the rooms must vary - I found ours (a 4 bed) smaller than expected. The kitchen would get very full during busy times.

There were no staff around with the exception of the man in the morning who seemed very angry that all the logs had been used in the fire the night before. As there is no one managing the place you could just walk in off the street and sleep in the sitting room. Five days after my stay I received... More

I hope that people reading our previous reviews from satisfied guests and the tone of this one will work out that there is something else going on here. This group booked 2 rooms for six males and our house manager was in contact with them several times during their stay and they mentioned no problems. However they exhibited behaviour that... More

We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The living rooms are super cosy with open fires (wood provided daily) and plenty of books, comfy couches and a few games (maybe more/better games would be good?) with fantastic kitchen and dining facilities. Wash rooms are perfectly adequate and drying room is a great bonus. Waking up to the... More

We hired the whole lodge over the Feb half term week as a group of 8 familes, a total of 18 adults and 15 kids ranging in age from 4 months to 13 years. What an amazing place, we were all so impressed. The standard of accommodation was fantastic. Cleverly designed bedrooms with comfy beds and lovely fresh linen, masses... More

We stayed valentines weekend with 7 families on exclusive use there were 28 of us in total. 14 adults and 14 kids. We had a ball. The lodge is clean and cosy and warm add to that underfloor heating and two log fires we couldn't have been happier. We were there during a fairly wild storm and there was a... More

We visited as a group of three friends and had the whole place to ourselves for four nights. Cooking facilities are very good. Nice open fires in the lounges. Only problem we had was the dining room was rather cold so we moved a table into the lounge. Great area for walking.

After a long hard descent into the Glenshee we checked in at the Gulabin Lodges. Now bear in mind this is not a hotel and you'll do fine. It's more of a self catering hostel. That said, you'll love it. I booked a small double but was put into a family room, five beds instead of two in a small... More
