Rooms very much in need of refurbishment, beds need replaced - very uncomfortable. Worst of all was breakfast and evening meal - an absolute disgrace, it was so bad we didn't go for breakfast on second morning before departing (how can you go so wrong with a breakfast). Many foreign staff ,who were pleasant but didn't always understand what you... more

I paid £77 for dinner bed and breakfast for 2 nights (Fri & Sat), which I thought was really good value for money considering I got a 3 course dinner meal and also the choice of a full cooked breakfast in the morning. This also included evening entertainment and access to leisure facilities such as the swimming pool. Works out... more

We stayed here for 4 nights half board and it was excellent value with excellent facilities. The staff were always helpful. The food was very nice and plenty of it with several choices. We were in room 110 which had a lounge, 2 colour TVs, tea and coffee facilities, with wonderful views. There was a free afternoon tea served on... more

This is our second visit to the Hydro and we really can't fault it for the money. If you are wanting gourmet meals then pay extra and go somewhere else! The staff are very friendly and will do anything to help. The rooms are of good size and more than adequate. The evening entertainment is cheesy but that adds to... more

We booked a stay here in March 2007- just a weekend thankfully. When we arrived, we were shown to our room. Very basic-and tired. A very big room- which was good, but the downside was the temperature in the room. It was sooooo cold. We called the reception- and to be fair, they did come up very quickly with a... more

We spent a midweek break in the hotel. Our room was very comfortable, the food was good and all the staff were efficient and friendly. The added touch of wine , chocolates and fruit in our room helped make our stay a bit more special. The entertainment was geared towards the over fifties and tourists so we enjoyed it. However... more

We've just returned from our third visit to the Hydro Hotel and can't fault it in any way. Unless you can call condensation on the windows in the morning a fault! We go as a group of 10-14 once a year to meet up and generally have a good time. Our ages are from 45-55 so I wouldn't class us... more

I spent two days of our four-night stay in quarantine in my room suffering from the Norovirus. Others were in the same predicament and I discovered there had been cases the previous weeks and several members of staff had also been ill. This virus is spread through contaminated surfaces and food - enough said! As most guests using this hotel... more

We have just returned from a week's Coach Trip with Shearings to Scotland and stayed at their Pitlochry Hydro Hotel. Even though most of these trips are booked by retired people, being only 36 I quite enjoyed my week. The room at the Hydro was adequate, it was clean and the food was ok - not as bad as I... more
