Stayed at the Lagg with my wife. The hotel is st in beautiful grounds with a lively stream next to the gardens. The hotel is old and has real character, log fires even during June add to the atmosphere. We stayed twice and both rooms were very comfortable with good shower/bath. We took dinner in the friendly bar but there... more

I got married at the Lagg Hotel in April. The day would have been perfect regardless, but the owners and staff at the hotel did everything they could to make it even more wonderful. We stayed at the hotel for a few days prior to the wedding. As the wedding was small (just the two of us) we relied on... more

We were on a walking holiday around Arran. I found the meals to be delicious and was the best part of our stay. The hotel is an old coaching inn and has bus stops outside on the main coastal road. The setting is pleasant and a stream flows past. The public areas are comfortable but the floor uneven. Staff were... more

Spent a lovely quiet weekend with my partner at this hotel. The room was lovely with the comfiest bed ..had the best night's sleep I have had in ages! There really wasn't anything we can moan about..we loved the cosy bar, the peaceful candlelit sun lounge at night, the food was great, the owners and staff were all very friendly.... more

We were disappointed with our stay at the Lagg Hotel, Arran. It promoted itself as having great cuisine, it didn't. The menu never changed, the food was either over cooked or cold and the restaurant had no atmosphere at all. The two resident dogs had the run of the public areas of the hotel and lay on all the chairs... more

Stayed for one night, on the only day we did not have a downpour on our holiday. As a result of the positioning of the hotel, the garden was a suntrap, and plenty of people were taking the oppertunity of enjoying the conservatory and gardens. Although the hotel is old, the rooms have been refurbished and are comfortable and well... more

Our favourite place in Scotland and one of our favourites in the world. We stayed at the Lagg Hotel in 2006 for four nights and returned for a full week this July. We love the hotel, a modernized 18th century inn, the island, the hosts, Mary and Peter, their dog Campbell, and the fine cuisine (yes, not just "food"--this is... more

We had a very pleasant, overnight stay at this hotel. Its traditional in style but comfortable and is in alovely location. very quiet and peaceful, super gardens. Excellent food and very welcoming owners. Very honest owners as well, as when I phoend to make a reservation they were most concerned as to whether their love sick peacock would disturb us... more
