Stopped two nights on a business trip and I have stayed before so I knew what to expect. The hotel was a good standard, nice and clean but a bit dated (it is a nice period building) The food is constantly good, with a great menu to choose from. Breakfast is great and thd parking is superb, right outside the... More

As lovely as it is to escape from a Premier Inn style hotel - I was a little disappointed upon check in. Although the greeting was nice enough, the decor was very dated and almost depressing. The room itself was reasonable, if not a little cold (I tend to run warm, so am glad it was me staying here and... More

Stayed hear for a night with our son, rooms were lovely and spacious and clean. The bathroom / shower room was large. We eat in the bar and the food was excellent with a wid choice and plenty to suit veggies, which two of the party were.

This hotel photos on website don't do it any justice. We stayed at Tontine for a night. The rooms was nice and clean but the walls are not soundproof! As such, we woke up millions of times at night, every time that the neighbours were laughing, going to toilet, talking etc. It was like they were in our own room. In addition, during breakfast, I noticed that one of the... More

For family reasons, we know Greenock well and have used the Tontine for dinner and/or drinks for many years but this was the first time we have stayed. The room was enormous - TV not big enough for the room to watch from the bed but we moved the sofa around and so was perfect. Bathroom good size with a... More

Visited quite recently (21st December) for family members 90th birthday celebration dinner. We had a large room to ourselves, very private which was great especially as we had kids there too. The food was delicious, and the service was great! Will definitely recommend!

The Tontine has been upgraded since I last stayed there 3 years ago and the improvements have made a big difference. There is an elegance to this hotel that gives it a sense of timelessness. The classical decor, especially in the public areas is worth the visit alone, and the restaurant follows the same pattern of good quality. So if... More
