This a good small hotel in a great location. I was attracted by the fact it was independently owned and had good food reviews - the food lived up to expectations which was just what we needed after a day's work. The room was comfortable and adequate for my one night stay. The staff were all first class in their friendliness and helpfulness. My party had three rooms, two on the first floor and one on the second floor. The achilles heel for this hotel unfortunately was the two first floor rooms which suffered from the noise from the bar from around 10:30pm onwards. It was very loud and would be a real issue for anyone not dead on their feet! The second floor room was unaffected. I am a good sleeper and was very tired, and even then I stirred a few times until the bar closed. I think the hotel compromises its guests comfort in favour of the trade at the bar and, unless it either tries to sound proof the rooms or keep the noise down, their potential to be a really good hotel will be...
