We enjoyed our stay here as part of a tour group. We also had the pastry wrapped haggis with cream sauce and I decided if I was going to taste it this would be the time. Not bad at least it didn't taste like organ meats. Breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruit. Enjoyed the bagpipe and accordion music... More

We were on a CIE tour and had a very busy day. By the time we arrived at the Newton, I was tired. The grounds are beautiful, the gardens were in bloom. You could take a brisk walk to the waters edge, but chose to rest up a bit, have a cocktail, and gain strength for the dinner and show... More

We enjoyed our overnight stay at The Newton and remember being handed a key big enough that you wouldn't accidentally walk off with it. The ambiance was definitely Scotland along with the weather unfortunately . We enjoyed the dining along with a very comfortable room and the graciousness of ______ (forgot proprietors name).

Very comfortable hotel set in beautiful grounds. Bar and restaurant both very satisfactory. The entertainment organised one night for our group was most enjoyable, and the hotel even provided one of our few photographic opportunities to capture Highland cows.

This is a lovely old hotel with some fantastic rooms we had a lovely suite lady somebody's overlooking the front of the hotel, the restaurant is a bit weird it looks like a 70s disco totally out of place but food was good staff very pleasant and helpful and nice bar, yeah would go again.

Spacious room with a pretty woodland view, in well kept-hotel/castle with lovely walking trails along the grounds. Shetland cows in the meadow a nice touch. Only negative might be the dining room location in the back and without any view while the nice conservatory dining room with bay windows overlooking the grounds wasn't used.

This is a lovely and comfortable hotel, once a favorite holiday spot for Charlie Chaplin, who would rent out the whole house for his friends and family. We stayed here as part of a tour, and were greeted on our bus by the charming, funny, and omnipresent manager. Seriously, the man was everywhere... check-in, toting luggage, serving at dinner, behind... More

We were here for a typical Highland wedding (apart from the bestmen arriving on John Deere tractors!) - it is a beautiful setting for a grand hotel. They do weddings very well and are clearly experienced at it. I have no idea what the rooms are like - but the food for 150 people was excellent. Served quickly and of... More

I loved this hotel. I was solo with a group and was given a large room overlooking the rear garden. The only negative was the TV. It is very old and well past its " best before " date. The positives were many. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom had everything including heated floor, a... More

Location is beautiful and the atmosphere is nice. Restaurant is ok.... nothing special nothing bad! The bad thing is reception, people over there are clumsy polite but they really don't care about your questions. For instance .... we reserved an executive room which is supposed to have a king size bed but.... surprise.... the bed is a normal twin bed.... More
