Spacious room with a pretty woodland view, in well kept-hotel/castle with lovely walking trails along the grounds. Shetland cows in the meadow a nice touch. Only negative might be the dining room location in the back and without any view while the nice conservatory dining room with bay windows overlooking the grounds wasn't used.

This is a lovely and comfortable hotel, once a favorite holiday spot for Charlie Chaplin, who would rent out the whole house for his friends and family. We stayed here as part of a tour, and were greeted on our bus by the charming, funny, and omnipresent manager. Seriously, the man was everywhere... check-in, toting luggage, serving at dinner, behind... More

We were here for a typical Highland wedding (apart from the bestmen arriving on John Deere tractors!) - it is a beautiful setting for a grand hotel. They do weddings very well and are clearly experienced at it. I have no idea what the rooms are like - but the food for 150 people was excellent. Served quickly and of... More

I loved this hotel. I was solo with a group and was given a large room overlooking the rear garden. The only negative was the TV. It is very old and well past its " best before " date. The positives were many. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom had everything including heated floor, a... More

Location is beautiful and the atmosphere is nice. Restaurant is ok.... nothing special nothing bad! The bad thing is reception, people over there are clumsy polite but they really don't care about your questions. For instance .... we reserved an executive room which is supposed to have a king size bed but.... surprise.... the bed is a normal twin bed.... More

First thing to hit you is the sheer distance when your on the driveway, long winding country lane ending with a stunning building. You are welcomed by friendly staff and the rooms are a mixture, I had 2 rooms in my party, a standard double and a family. I found the double of a standard size, but the family room... More

What can be said about this hotel. 2nd time I've stayed here with work. The staff couldn't be friendlier, always having a smile and enjoying being there. The food is of the highest quality. There is a choice of soups, and a fairly good choice of meals from the bar. The restaurant menu is even more varied. Check in was... More

Very nice setting in this hotel, friendly staff and comfortable stay. The pub was open and the restaurant meals good. Can walk the property, view the Scottish cows in the fields and simply relax. Definitely recommend. The only negative was that a wedding party was on our floor, next to us and the reception party music went on late. Would... More

Newton Hotel is a superb building set in acres of landscaped gardens and is within 5 minutes walking distance of Nairn's main shopping area and a number of good restaurants. On arrival I was informed breakfast would be an additional £12.95 so didn't bother with that. I'm used to B & B inclusive rates but had obviously mis-read the booking... More
