We had a delightful meal on 13 August 2010 - it was a special family celebration and Sunny Brae was the perfect venue. The restaurant is very attractive with wonderful views. I can particularly recommend the Goats Cheese and Aubergine starter, the Venison main course and the Strawberry and Meringue Roulade. We also enjoyed the excellent wine list and attentive... More

My wife and I were eating in the Hotel restaurant last Thursday evening (1st July) along with 2 friends. We booked the meal as a Birthday surprise for my wife. Right from the initial telephone call, the owner Mr Ian Bochel was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally situated overlooking Nairn Beach. It was very clean and bright... More

Stayed for two nights of our touring holiday. Extremely comfortable stay. Room and bathroom very high standard, excellent freshly cooked to order breakfast with plent of choice. Did not dine in the evening, the menu looked very good but did not cater for vegetarians, but have found this to be fairly normal in Scotland! Would stay again even though it... More

I stood in this hotel for 3 nights and was surprised how good the Scottish cuisine can be. Wonderful meals, a very good wine list, and a top choice of whiskies, presented by a very friendly landlord and a great staff! I enjoyed every minute of my stay, especially when we spotted dolphins in the Moray Firth while we had... More

I have stayed here twice on business and really enjoyed both times. The outside of the building is not very picturesque, but the view over the Moray Firth from inside is brilliant. My room had everything you need for a visit and was immaculate. The decor is a bit fussy for my taste though. I imagine the first floor rooms... More

We are local to the area, so did not stay at the hotel, but we go there on special occaisions for evening meals, and the food is fantastic. Excellent value for three courses and a brilliant drink selection. The service is also top class.

Sunny Brae is a small high-quality family-owned and operated hotel with a gourmet restaurant in a delightful setting. Rooms are well-appointed and ultra-clean. Complimentary wi-fi is available in the rooms and the lounge. The restaurant features excellent cuisine and service with the owners of the hotel serving as maitre d'/sommelier and chef. The prix fixe menu offers four different starters,... More

Upon arrival no one welcomed us or helped with luggage. A young man asked if we were there to check-in and I replied "yes". He helped us with a bag up to our room and gave us the key. Not much communication was given about the place, area, etc... We had the master suite for 3 nights. The bed was... More

Stayed there one night in February - a wee treat for us. The staff were great, accommodation great, food great, sea view great (and we live by the sea all year round), and it was central for touring around. We'll be back.

We stayed at this hotel in the middle of August for two nights. While this hotel is quite expensive for the area you do get what you pay for but to be honest it is not worthwhile paying extra for a sea view room as you are not in it for that long. The breakfast and evening meals are simply... More
