I have never stayed here but have eaten a few times and the food has always been consistently good. There is a good choice between a nice formal restaurant area or a modern vibrant sports bar with a good choice of beers and malts as well as large TV in one end of the bar for relevant sports events. It... More

This hotel restaurant is modern and clean.Menu is limited and in my opinion overpriced however food is good and presented very well.Staff friendly. If you want a nice place to eat and dont mind paying a few pounds over the odds The Clubhouse can be recommended .

Have eaten here quite a few times and always thought it was good, with bright comfortable bar area, friendly efficient staff and well priced. Well good has now become very good with our first Sunday visit. The Roast Beef Dinner was excellent. Lots of well cooked beef and generous amounts of potatoes and veg. Not the cheapest at £15 but... I recently stayed at The Clubhouse Hotel due to its proximity to the hotel hosting a friends wedding. On arrival I received a warm welcome and enjoyed a delicious Burrito in the bar before finding my room. My room (no 6) was spacious, with a large bathroom and very clean. It had a side street view - perfectly fine. Service... More

Stayed here as going to a wedding at a local hotel which had no rooms available. Arrived and was shown to room 14 at the rear of the hotel. This was described as a garden room (car park room). The room was very small and considering we paid 130 pounds for one night it was not the boutique room we... More

This July, I've stayed at the Clubhouse for the third time now, together with my son (17 years). This is a hotel with a rather distinct style to it - it is a bit brash with modern decorations, hence the title of this review. Don't get me wrong, it's not the sort of hotel with load music blaring, not at... More

We stayed at the Clubhouse for 2nights in early August. The hotel was clean with modern deco, however our room [room10] did not reflect this being basic, small and with combed ceilings. The second flight of stairs to get to this attic room were dangerous, very steep with shallow treads.Although the hotel was full both nights of our stay the restaurant was never... Beautiful hotel and lovely room. Comfy bed and great amenities. Bathroom in room needs complete overhaul though not what I expected in this hotel. Asked to change rooms for room with shower however was given a tiny room with an even worse bathroom so stayed put. To be fair shower and bath worked fine just did not fit with the... More

Stayed at the Clubhouse again for a Valentines getaway in February this year. Always a friendly, welcoming hotel with excellent rooms and food. Stayed in room 3 - and was lovely - so comfortable and always spotlessly clean! Hoping to stay again later this year - wouldn't want to go anywhere else!!

Just returned from a family weekend break at this lovely hotel. No hesitation in recommending it and would definitely return to stay here again. We had 4 rooms in total and each one was individually decorated in a bright, modern style with everything matching. Nothing lacking in the rooms and everything clean, tidy and in good working order. We had... More
