Reading through previous reviews this hotel appears to have been in the doldrums for the past couple of years. However, with new owners and management on board I would suggest that the corner has been turned based on our very enjoyable break last weekend. The room was clean, well decorated and comfortable, the staff professional and attentive without being overbearing... more

We spent a weekend here for a friends wedding in 2005. Since that time there has been new ownership and I have not visited since. The location is amazing. Overlooking the loch with large gardens, gym, an indoor pool and tennis courts. The hotel was very clean and spacious. Rooms were well appointed with large, comfortable beds. The bathrooms were... more

Better than ever! Having stayed at the Golf View on numerous occasions over the last 8 years and seen the hotel change hands twice, I can honestly say that, under the Crerar/Swallow Group, the hotel even surpasses the service which we thought first-class when it belonged to the family-run Morton Group. We booked through a special offer of £25 per... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in mid February. This was a surprise for my wife was would soon be celebrating a "significant" birthday. I used the site Bookings.Com who said in their correspondence that when available we be upgraded to a better room. I telephoned the hotel the day before leaving to request that... more

Nice place to stay on a February evening when the sun is out and you can get on the beech on 12 degrees c. Good rooms, but the food was a letdown. Dinner was average, breakfast was poor. more

We have just returned from a 3-night break and had a great time. The staff were excellent, room was spacious and clean, and the food was outstanding. The leisure club was good, although sometimes busy with private members. We will certainly return, it was a fantastic and very relaxing break. more

Just had an enjoyable first stay at this hotel. Service is a bit hit and miss but very good on the Front desk where it counts. Room good and position of the property excellent. The hotel is not cheap but not super expensive so generally hits the mark. With some more dedicated training & systems it could be much more.... more

We have just returned from a 5 night break at this hotel. We could not fault it. The staff were efficient and friendly- nothing was a problem for them. Room was superb- 4 poster bed, whirlpool bath and separate shower unit with everything spotlessly clean. Food was delicious, well presented and efficiently served. Leisure facilities were good, pool and jacuzzi... more

The New Year package at the Golf View was excellent. The arrangements were very effective - a great balance of entertainment/socialising and relaxing. The helpfulness and hard work of all the staff ensured a friendly, fun atmosphere but at the same time they coped with a full hotel efficiently. At a time of year when so often quality and presentation... more

We stayed at the Golf View for 2 nights. The rooms are excellent, the location simply stunning (when the sun shines) and there are excellent facilities in the health club / pool / spa. Unfortunately the breakfast service was a bit of a shambles when we were there, but the new manager was very responsive to our complaints. He used... more
