A true highlight of our recent trip up north, a delicious 6 course dinner at this gorgeous country house. Tasty, imaginative canapes and aperitif in the lovely lounge with roaring log fire (where we also retired to for coffee and petit fours) and dinner in the beautiful dining room at the bay window overlooking attractive grounds. I had notified them... More

Just spent a weekend at the Boath House and everything was just perfect. The food is exquisite - the rooms lovely - the setting very relaxing. But the main standout was the subtle, understated but superb customer service from George, Sam and the whole staff. You are made to feel more like house guests than hotel visitors. I cannot recommend highly... More

Dear Andrew, It was a pleasure having you and your family as our guests last weekend. After the initial disappointment of the postponed trip at New Year it was great to welcome you to Boath House. Wonderful to hear that your stay was an enjoyable one, I have passed your comments on to the whole team. Many Thanks, George Murdoch More

We visited Boath House for Afternoon Tea and had a lovely time exploring the beautiful grounds before settling down for a bite to eat. I was a little disappointed with the presentation as it was not a traditional selection of finger sandwiches and sweets. You can just choose one type sandwich which is then followed by sweets. All were delicious,... More

Visited Boath for lunch and had one of the best lunches I have ever enjoyed. Perhaps the bottle of Tatinger whilst choosing from the menu helped! WAs a bit disappointed with the canape (shell fish crackers with a dip) I may be wrong but thought canape was fish etc served on pastry toast etc? Only a minor point as everything... More

A bottle of Tattinger pre lunch will certainly help wet your whistle and aid in the enjoyment of a great lunch. A canapé is described as a small, decorative bite size food that can be eaten using your fingers. Sorry that they were not too your taste on this occasion, if brought to our attention a substitute would always be... More

We spent a couple of days at Boath House in the cottage with our two dogs. Great space, well laid out for disabled visitors but ideal for visitors with dogs, way from the main house so reduced noise & washable floors. All very well appointed, warm & comfortable. The main house is quite imposing from outside but is warm &... More

Thank you for finding the time to offer some much appreciated feedback. The cottage is great for those who have dogs, away from the main house and great access to the gardens. The understated menu does allow for intrigue and excitement at dinner time, great to hear that none of the dishes disappointed. We hope to see you again, George... More

Wow!! what can I say - the best afternoon tea ever. Can you give 10 stars out of 5 . Will be back another day. £17.50 for afternoon tea and worth every penny. Would make a great gift for Mother's day or a special birthday Hint Hint

I booked dinner bed and breakfast in the January offer for my boyfriend and I. We couldn't fault a thing. Hospitality excellent, dinner was beyond our expectations and even breakfast was a culinary triumph. I had the smoked haddock, poached egg and buttery. Delicious. It is expensive but you 100% get what you pay for. Boath House have it spot... More

We stayed one night at the luxurious retreat that is Boath House. We were in room 8 which is in the basement and contrary to expectations of it being a dark room it was bright with beautiful furnishings a lovely 'outdoor' seating area and an amazing walk in shower area. The room has beautiful arched ceilings and the furniture and... More

Dear Katie, Thank you for the great feedback. All the rooms at Boath House have their own individual charm and room 8 is one of my personal favourites. Cosy and warm in the winter but light, fresh and airy in the summer. I've heard the bat cave shares these unique qualities. The food is always a highlight and consistency is... More

Spent one night here as a treat and have no hesitatiionn in recommending it for a relaxing stay with great food. We were in bedroom 1 which was huge with an equally large bathroom complete with roll-top bath. Nice touch was the ground coffee and fresh milk- not those little long-life pots!!! Dinner was a delight with the best of... More
