stayed here for one night in January, a lovely hotel in a cracking location with amazing views looking across to the isle of Skye. was quiet due to the time of year but the service was excellent and reasonably priced including a full Scottish breakfast. Will defo be staying here again on my next trip to Kyle of Lochalsh, thankyou... More

A great location looking across the sea to Skye. The building is freshly painted on the outside. Inside the building needs some investment. The only meal I had was breakfast which was satisfactory. Wifi in public area. The price was attractive at £45 b & b and that was reasonable value for money.

I needed an overnight stopover for an early start on Skye - the Lochalsh Hotel seemed ideally suited due to its location and prices for a room and breakfast. I arrived late in the evening, and check in was easy. The room was comfortable, but a little cold (weather was wet and windy outside, in January!). Sorted my things out,... More

Dropped in for drinks and a light lunch on my late summer visit to Kyle of Lochalsh. It's such a shame to see an old favourite fall out favour, but the dear old place is somewhat 'worn'. Perhaps I have experienced too much of the 'top end in my latter days, because I remember this as being the ultimate luxury.... More

We stayed here for one night travelling between Harris and home. Others have described this hotel as "tired", but I feel this is an understatement. Our room was adequate, but I couldn't find any way to manage the windows to avoid a loud whistling sound from the wind. (Living in Scotland, I'm fairly used to wind, but this noise was... More

It's such a shame that a beautiful area like this has no decent hotels. Tourists exploring the north west of Scotland must be horrified and left traumatised by the their stay here. If this is an example of "Highland Hospitality" then we're all doomed. I recently had the displeasure of staying in the hotel and what can I say.... Well... More

I was staying for one night as I had work on the isle of Skye and needed a place to rest. The entire hotel needs up dating as it was dreary and depressing. The bar is very unwelcoming as well. The reason for 2 stars though is that I had a good nights sleep and the room was clean. If... More

3 years ago stopped here, nothing much has changed, drove from Thurso right across the top and eventually here, it still needs investment , room was ok with big bathroom and of course dated, but it was ok for the price and the staff are pleasant, same price as last time £100 for 2 rooms, nice breakfast, very few hotels... Oh dear oh dear this has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in - its saving grace has to be its location right on the Loch with views over to the Skye Bridge. The hotel needs a complete refurb to bring it out of the 1950/1960's and into the 21st century and if they did nothing else... More

We booked 2 rooms for our stay after we visited the Isle of Skye. We got room 10 and 12. Room 12 smelled of extreme mold (SEVERE!). Fortunately room 10 had enough beds for four people, so we borrowed the pillows and blankets from room 12 and stayed in room 10. We knew they were full so getting another room... More
