Parking on site was difficult to say the least. Accommodation was a smallish room at the top of a flight of stairs. Bay window overlooking the loch was lovely. Bathroom looked like a DIY nightmare, particularly tiling but functional. The restaurant was outstanding with gorgeous food and very good service. This was the highlight of our stay. The accommodation really... more

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the restaurant. The bathroom you mention will be upgraded as a priority, and we thank you for your feedback. This is the final part of the upgrading of the 180 year old former manse part of the hotel, the remaining accommodation being newly built.

What a superb small hotel this is, perfectly situated on the loch-front a few minutes walk from the main street. We were so impressed with our room, which was on the first floor facing onto the loch. A very large room, with a big bathroom, sofa, huge bed, flat-screen TV. What really made it stand out was that it retained... more

I booked this hotel at the last minute and had no idea what to expect - however, i was pleasantly surprised. The hotel manages to maintain a hotel feel but offers the friendliness of a B&B. The room was spacious and clean (although the bathroom perhaps a little small for some people). The food in the restaurant was prepared to... more

I planned our road trip through Scotland months ago and originally we had planned to stay in Kinlochleven on our way south from John O'Groats. By the time we got to Fort William we were at something of a low ebb and needed something to reinvigorate us for the remainder of our trip - The Lime Tree delivered. We decided... more

We were looking for a good, modern place to stay with good food. We struck it lucky with the Lime Tree. We found the entry in "Scotland the Best" and decided to stay there as it was highly commended and we've found the book to be a good guide. Driving in to Fort William from the south our hearts sunk... more

Spent 2 nights here - it was lovely We came up with lots of kit and the room was a good size and offered us everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. The hotel is really close to the heart of the town, easy to find and is very conveniently located. The restaurant was really excellent – the food... more

We had an excellent 4 nights at the Limetree. The rooms are by no means palatial, but we found them clean and more than comfortable. The staff was attentive and helpful in arranging activities. They went above and beyond the call. By far the highlight of the stay though was the food. Breakfasts were ample and outstanding. Dinner was pricey,... more

We did not stay at the Lime Tree, but booked a table for lunch in the restaurant. When myself and my wife arrived at the restaurant, there were no other customers, in fact we had the place to ourselves the entire time we were there (I suppose it was a Sunday out of season). When we were shown to our... more

We spent two very relaxing nights at The Lime Tree in late April. We stayed in the newest part of the building, the room was spacious, clean, warm, lovely big king size bed with crisp white bedding, large spotless bathroom, good shower. Our room had a flat screen TV, dressing table, kettle, tea coffee and chocolate treats, sofa and a... more

Stayed here as a business traveller in October 2007, based on recommendations from colleagues. The location is good, but overall I was very disappointed with the hotel, having paid 65 pounds pp for the room I expected more. The bedroom was basic and the matress and bed were very tired - and the linen was nothing special - did not... more
