I had stayed at this hotel a few years back with my new wife, and thought it was brilliant - really warm, welcoming and friendly. Obviously wanting to recreate the magic we returned exepecting it to be putting on an old pair of comfy slippers - The experience could not have been more different. The new owners are cold and dismissive,... more

Where do I start - the hotel is obviously run on a shoestring, we were there for one night and only saw 3 members of staff. There was a lovely American girl who to be frank is running the place single handedly with just 2 Polish girls to help her. She runs the reception, the bar and then serves the... more

we only stayed at this hotel for one night as we were travelling all around Scotland , the view from our room was overlooking Loch Onich, it was fantastic. The staff were friendly and polite. We would definately stay there again . more

My husband and I recently returned from a camping trip in Scotland. The weather was atrocious so we decided to stay in a hotel for a nights luxury. The Alt-Nan-Ros Hotel let us have the family room [at short notice] to unwind and enjoy a nights luxury. The staff were brilliant and made us feel very welcome, we enjoyed it... more

After a long drive up from Sunderland we were welcomed by a friendly lady who escorted us to our rooms. Whilst we unpacked we were made a fresh pot of tea and the shortbread devoured by our kids. We then went on a mini-hike up Ben Nevis before returning to the hotel for dinner. At the reception we were again... more

The hotel was recommended by friends. We arrived very late for a 3 nights stay. The hotel owner had promised to wait for us and was there on arrival. Rooms were good sized and clean, although somewhat utilitarian. Staff, especially the owner was very friendly and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our time in the area. The food was... more

How do I describe this place and our experience of it in such a small space. All the negative comments made by others are completely true. My wife and I were looking for a short break away over New Year. It was a last minute decision being done on the morning of 31 December. We found this place on Laterooms.co.uk.... more

Firstly, let me start by saying my wife and I had stayed previously at the Allt Nan Ros hotel (Sept 2002) and we loved every minute of our stay! It is for this reason we intended to visit the hotel again for New Years Eve 2006, with my sister and her fiance. My wife telephoned the hotel and spoke with... more

Our Guide Book needs updating. We booked here on the basis of good reviews and were really disappointed. The location is superb but nothing else is. There were two other guests. The hotel was cold and unloved. The restaurant was empty for dinner apart from ourselves. The wine list had lots of wine by the glass and ALL at the... more
