This place was rated with three stars but proved the least acceptable out of the B&B accomodation with the same rating that we stayed at in Scotland. The breakfast was good but the room facing the loch was tiny and the ensuite arrangements were very poor. Fine if you are a dwarf. The shower cubicle was minute and one couldn't... more

We were not given a chance to address the reviewers concerns since no complaint was made, either on their arrival or during their stay. If there had been we would have done our very best to help. We feel it inappropriate for the reviewer to make recommendations to possible future customers. We are astonished that after reading this critical review...

With so many places to visit for the avid climber, and historic sights to see for the true tourist, it's nice to know you can relax at Alt-An-Lodge at the end of the day. It has a fantastic view of Loch Linnhe and many fine places to eat in the town of Fort William, which is nearby. But the friendliness... more

This was all we have come to expect from Scottish B & Bs. Warm welcome, excellent clean and comfortable room and facilities, fantastic view from room over the Loch Linnhe, and great Scottish Breakfast. What more could one wish for. more

My wife and I stayed 1 night here. This B+B has fantastic views over the Lough and is probaly the best feature. The room was small, but adequate, however, the worst feature was the shower and toilet which are in 2 separate little (and I mean little) cubicles. There is not much room in the toliet, so be warned if... more

This is a lovely little B & B on the southern road into Fort William. It's got great views out onto the Loch, although it's slightly out of town. The rooms are a little old fashioned (not that that's a problem) but the breakfast was great, and the rates reasonable. more

Alt-an is a great little B'n'B on the outskirts of Fort William. My girlfriend and I stayed there for 4 nights over the Easter break. It makes a great base for exploring the highlands. Margaret was an excellent host and cooks a mean breakfast in the morning! more

Myself and a mate came to Fort William to climb Ben Nevis after doing the other 2 peaks, Snowdon and Scafell Pike, so we only needed 1 nights stay. I booked Alt anLodge because it was more or less the first place i could find at short notice. Alt an Lodge is on the right, on the main road coming... more
