My Hubby and I stopped here on an ice climbing weekend. we normally camp and thought we'd splash out and get a nice hotel! The website portrays a gorgeous looking old building.... do not be fooled! The room was filthy, it hadn't been hoovered for some time, hairs, fluff and bits of tissue all over and more under the bed.... more

The hotel could be likened to Faulty towers, minus the comedy. Rooms were small, noisey (the room had a big gap in the glass panel above the door), and quite light at night (the glass panel, and the thinnest curtains I've seen) and the side costal view (which we appear to have been charged for, despite not requesting it /... more

I usually check out accommodation on TA and the internet but this was the only night during our holiday in Scotland that we had not planned since we didn't know where exactly we would end up that day. After a long day's drive and hubby suffering an extremely sore throat we arrived in Fort William and just wanted somewhere to... more

The photo on the internet at the travel agents looked like a charming old Scottish mansion - a perfect treat after walking the West Highland Way. However most of the actual hotel is an ugly square extension out the back. The rooms are very poorly furnished - worse than most B & B's and motels I have stayed in. The... more

We always enjoy Fort William and we enjoyed our stay at The Cruachan. Although we sometimes stay at various BBs in Fort William. The food always tasty and a excellent breakfast. But the main thing is the folk singer Stephen Quigg who appears here sometimes but check first. What a wonderful singer if we do a 700 mile round trip... more

We must have had the same room as the Redbarron. The most uncomfortable double bed we have ever experienced anywhere. No shower in the bathroom. Bathroom shelf came off into the hand basin. Smells and noise from the kitchen below. When we complained about ther shelf the Polish girl on reception said that this was a fault in all of... more

great location only a few minutes walk to centre of fort william, fabulous views over the loch, rooms a decent size and cleaned to my high standards daily. Food and drink an excellent variety . We were on a coach tour, with about three/four choices for every coarse and they sold a good selection of drinks. The staff at the... more
