Our first choice for a meal out in Fort William, quality and service is always the same. Another thing we like about the West End is the fact that the staff have been there for years, that tells us the type of employers the owners are. The fact we live locally means we do not have to stay overnight but... More

The staff were very polite and helpful...We stayed there with a group of friends, we had dinner and the food was excellent... The only bad thing about this hotel is the rooms they are needing to change the beds as they are not very comfortable... also new bed linen, and better pillows and duvets.... the room was very clean...

Old fashioned, perhaps 30 to 40 years behind the times. Good points, location, cheery helpful staff, warm and good sized room. Poor points, no duvets, no buffet at breakfast, all waitress service. The whole ambience is very dated and quite dull but it was good value go money.

Location is spot on, the food was good and the staff that I encountered were all top notch. The only real disappointment was the room itself. Very "compact", an extremely uncomfortable mattress and bedding (sheets and blankets, no duvets here) that didn't get changed in my 8 night stay. With a bit of money spent it could be a very... The hotel has very nice location and looks lovely from outside, clean inside. However, the lady in the reception wasn't friendly at all, which was a downside. Also there are no duvets in rooms, only blankets. We ate dinner there, was okish.. could be much better tho. The service at breakfast was good, waitress was very polite and lovely. Overall... More

A trip down memory lane to a traditional hotel with aspirations to consider itself more grand than it is. Food was pre-prepared everything and therefore, unsurprisingly, predictable and uninteresting. Filled the gap ! Ambience possibly the main feature: warm, spacious, comfortable (in an old fashioned sort of way). All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Fort William is beautiful, and not exactly a bustling town, with people generally visiting for the hiking and the steam train (my experience). The West End Hotel is probably one of the better hotels around, and while it's not 5*, you're not paying 5* prices either. Bottom line - My brother and I enjoyed our stay here, but had to... More

We only stopped here for one night while traveling around Scotland. The hotel was pretty empty as we were out of season so we were allowed to go and view our room first and actually got to pick which one we wanted. We had a room at the front with a view of the Loch. The room was clean and... More

We only ate here so I can't comment on the rooms, but the bar food was good, and service was quick. I thought there was a lively atmosphere in the bar on a Monday night in October, with a mix of people. With older parents who didn't want to ear much, we were pleased that smaller portions are available. The... More
