This is a very nice little hotel which shows that it really cares. You can see this in the excellent food, the careful decor and the friendly staff. Artwork abounds not just in the unique art gallery but on the walls and nooks and crannies everywhere. Our room had a lovely view of the loch and a thoughtfully placed mirror... More

We stayed at the Lime Tree en route from Skye (ferry) to Mallaig to Glasgow and onto London by train, a journey which required an overnight stop at Fort William. The Lime Tree provided excellent accommodation, a central location, and a gastronomic treat at our evening dinner, where the service was also excellent.

We booked this hotel months back for our group walk up Ben Nevis for charity. We unfortunately had no hot water due to a burst/broken boiler which we had been informed of 1/2 days before arrival and being fort william with little or no accommodation left we kindly took the offer of a reduced rate for the lack of facilities... The Lime Tree is a restored manse. The property certainly as character. The decor seemed to reflect the peak of the house's original hay day. However, the living rooms were pretty dusty and had a musky smell. The museum feel doesn't mean it should be dusty and unkempt. Don't sit on the sofas heavily! We were unlucky to be allocated... This is a small hotel which doubles up as an art gallery. A converted Manse, the rooms are all individual and have the place has a real welcoming feel to it. The staff are friendly and the breakfast I had was excellent. Well located for the few charms Fort William centre has to offer. I would stay here again without... More

From the first step into reception you just know this is going to be a great stay. The hotel has a great ambience, the rooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms very quiet. To top it off, the breakfast was fabulous, with the cooked options cooked to order in the... More

Mould on windowsill behind shutters in room and on wall in bathroom. Bath was not clean, had to rinse it out before use. Could not put radiator off due to the cover, which no-one had vacuumed under since the carpet was laid. I would say the best thing about the room was the four-poster bed, but the other rooms with... This was the first hotel we stayed in following on from some B&Bs. The room was lovely, had a bath tub with a shower over it which was a bonus. Room was at the top so good if you have mobitliy problems. We had a lovely view. The restaurant was ok although we found the dishes a bit fussy. Staff... More
