This place is a step up from your average B&B. It is beautifully situated just off the main shopping strip of Fort William with uninterrupted views to the loch. It also has a gallery space and uses the walls of the lounge and bedrooms to display original art works for sale. There are three separate areas to relax in other... More

The hotel itself is attractive and the two lounges are lovely. Breakfast was fine and our room in the more recent extension was ok but I believe the rooms in the original building are even nicer. The hammering that started at 7.50 was a bit of a surprise but not a problem as we were awake. Would certainly return.

I'm a great fan of Fawlty Towers and staying at the Lime Tree was about as close as I will ever get. Twice, in a week, on the way up, and on the way down. The hotel is lovely inside - nice decor, comfortable room, good bath and shower - clean. Two big living rooms near the front door for... More

We stayed at the Lime Tree for four nights in late June. Compared with some of the rather tired-looking hotels in Fort William, this was very smart and beautifully done up. The lounges were stunning, with an open fire roaring in the evening. All the rooms downstairs are enhanced by lovely paintings and the hotel has its own art gallery.... More

We were on a long road trip around Scotland and North England and had stayed in Fort William for 3 nights at a different hotel and had a meal at that Hotel the previous night and wanted something further up on the fine dinning list. We were recommended The Lime Tree by a waitress at the Crannog Restaurant (also an... More

Nice small hotel with a stunning view over the loch. The restaurant was short of staff so partly closed and a little disappointment. Room was excellent with four poster bed, but some flushing problem with the toilet.

This was the perfect way to spend a night after a very long 12 hours drive from Lincolnshire, the Lime Tree was comfortable, clean and the staff extremely helpful. We had booked to eat in the restaurant but unfortunately due to traffic jams we weren't going to make it in time so we had to cancel and dine on the... More

We were looking forward to restful couple of days in Fort William. We were greeted warmly and the room seemed very comfortable. Sadly things went rapidly downhill. Eating at the rear ant that evening and for 2 breakfasts was a chaotic experience with the staff both waiting and cooking at odds. We asked for fizzy water and were offered a... More

This is an ideal stopping point on the long journey up to the western isles and our room couldn't have been cosier. Supper on the expensive side so we'll wait for next time, and breakfast pretty standard, too much and too greasy, to be honest. However what a bonus to be able to experience an exceptionally well thought out and... More

Absolutely loved this hotel. We arrived here after walking 97 miles of the West Highland Way and it was the perfect antidote. Fantastically comfortable beds, massive as well, lovely sheets, and a gorgeous bathroom. The whole place is beautifully decorated - the owners obviously have an artistic eye, as was evident from the Matisse exhibition in the beautiful gallery room!... More
