This hotel overlooks the loch and is conveniently situated. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The two guest lounges, with coal fires, are cosy and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent, and open to non residents. I would recommend this hotel as first choice if visiting fort william.

The Lime Tree is a stylish place to stay, close to the centre of Fort William. The owner is an artist, and his paintings displayed in the gallery and on the walls around the hotel add to the ambience. Our room was lovely with views out over the loch, and the breakfast menu offered some great choices with food freshly... More

We stayed here after we finished the WHW. It's in a great location not far from the end of the walk. Our room was spacious with a great bathroom. The hotel has some nice lounge areas. Their breakfast is fantastic. We had some great smoked salmon in Scotland but the best was here! A very nice hotel, to say the... More

Finished the WHW having walked 16 miles. Check in was matter of fact. We were informed of room, dinner booking, breakfast etc and told where our luggage was. I am 62 my husband 76 and it was the first hotel that did not offer help with luggage. We proceeded to take it a case at a time up winding stairs... More

Near the end point of the WHW, sleeping and dining in the Lime Tree is a real reward. Hotel, room and bathroom are decorated with taste. Classic yet with a modern touch. Efficient but measured service, nothing more is required though. The carpet is a treat to the feet after a hot shower. Shower screen in need of restoration. The... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in August on our tour of Scotland. After several other stays, we wanted somewhere to relax and chill and this proved the perfect destination. A spacious family room, with 2 large extra comfy beds, a big bathroom, with good products for a relaxing soak. And the choice at breakfast - excellent - with a... More

We stayed here for 2 nights between walking the West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way. Location is convenient for access to Fort William, but the hotel is in need of a lot of work. The room was adequate, but there was an extension cord running under the carpet across the room, the bed was low and uncomfortable, the... More

We stayed for 3 nights, 10 of us on a family trip. Location of the hotel is great and parking was not a problem for any of us including my dad who doesn't walk very well. Rooms were absolutely fine, clean and much better than expected. There was not a great deal of storage space for luggage but that wasn't... More

Good location, easy to find, with a very friendly atmosphere, delighful food, with well chosen wines. The two lounge rooms are quite cosy and welcoming. Rooms are old fashioned but very comfortable; ours had a nice view on the sea port.
