We took a trip to the Highlands in December and needless to say it was cold and rainy. But this hotel was nice and warm and the people were very friendly! There are numerous little rooms to relax in and have a fire and sip a glass of wine. The hotel was built in 1850 as a church and has... More

We have stayed in FW often over the years, usually as a stop over when travelling to or from our home in Skye. This time however, we were in FW for 3 nights, and so made a real effort to find somewhere very nice to stay. Discovered the Lime Tree, thank goodness. We must have driven past it for years!... We only stayed one night, but if we come back to Scotland we will definitely come back for longer. We'd come from Edinburgh to Mallaig by train, stopping overnight at Fort William on way back to Edinburgh. What a lovely town and a lovely place to stay. The owner and his staff were welcoming and we really liked coming in... More

I simply cannot think of anything to comment by way of constructive criticism - this is the obvious choice of accommodation in Fort William and you shouldn't think twice. The room was a comfortable size with a lovely big bed and the communal lounges with log fires were beautifully furnished and cosy. The restaurant was quiet (Monday night in November... More

Stayed for two nights and would highly recommend. Staff were friendly and attentive, breakfast was excellent, rooms cosy and clean. Particularly liked the map room and the artwork throughout made it especially interesting. Will stay again.

Stayed for the night (31/05) here on a hillwalking trip to Fort William with four friends. The plan was to hill walk and then stay in Fort William for a drink and something to eat! I had stayed in this hotel a number of years ago (5+?) and had enjoyed it plus it was very handy for the centre of... More

A wonderful two nights in this lovely hotel in Fort William. Our room on the second floor had a beautiful bay window and the most tremendous view of Loch Linnhe. We were travelling with two older relatives, each of whom had their own room - all the rooms were a good size and comfortable with their own character. It rained... More

My Girlfriend and I stayed for two night at the Lime Tree which we asbolutely loved. the hotel has real character and a cosy-warm feel about it during those cold winter nights. we had the pleasure of staying in room 4 which over looked the Loch outside. it has a fantastic window seat where you can sit and watch the... The Lime Tree is stylish hotel with the accent on art. It has its own integral art gallery and, of course, the pieces are all for sale. We stayed for one night on the way back from the Isle of Skye, having stayed there previously about 3 years ago. Our room was large and clean, as was the en-suite bathroom.... More
