Good position, friendly staff, good breakfast. Very warm in bedrooms so kept waking up!! Would have liked to open windows more. Nothing more to say. Other than the Crannog Fish Restaurant on harbour front was fabulous......

Thank you very much for your comments. With regard to our windows, it is a health and safety requirement that we put a safety catch to open the windows a fraction however they do have the ability to open much more, by overriding the safety catch. More

I had read some of the other reviews, but because of the hotels location, decided to wait and make my own mind up on arrival. The hotel staff are polite and deal with enquiries very quickly. Check in was completed without a fuss and speedily. The room was clean and tidy with a think blind for the window. The view... More

Fort William is a convenient stop in the Highlands but sadly there are no gems to be found in this town. This hotel is very conveniently located but the rooms are pretty horrid, the dining room utterly bereft of charm and the food just so unimaginative. But what really threw me was when the fire alarm went off there was... More

Thank you very much indeed for your comments. We have a very strong refurbishment program where the rooms are upgraded annually during the winter months. There are plans to upgrade the restaurant and bar areas. With regard to the fire alarm, you are right in that there should have been an evacuation, and yes occasionally there are the odd time... My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in May during a short break in the north of Scotland. We had stayed there on two previous occasions but this was the first time for several years. The hotel is old style and caters for coaches and big events. We were on a bed an breakfast basis and... More

Although impressive on the outside, the interior unfortunately was a bit out of date and drab. I was also disappointed to find that the wifi, although free, was only available in the lobby. The beds were comfortable, however, and I did enjoy the breakfast here. It was quite close to the train station, which was another plus.

We spent the last night of our holiday in the Western Isles here on our way back to Glascow airport. The welcome at reception was efficient and friendly. The rooms were adequate, clean and comfortable if not inspiring. We had rooms at the back which have no outlook and are a bit dark. The location of the hotel is very... More

For your kind words, especially about our staff a big thank you, we are particularly proud of our staff team. A good point you have made about the steaks, my apologies for them being over cooked, however I have spoken to the Chefs to make allowances for preparation in the future More

We spent 3 nights as part of a group with Rail Trail. I had hoped that perhaps we would be lucky enough to have a refurbished room, having noted the comments about the current refurbishment plan. However, we were not lucky. Our room was very tired, desperately needing a coat of paint, repairs to drawer handles on the dressing table... More

I do apologise that you did not get one of the refurbished rooms and I am sorry that your stay did not live up to your expectations. We have made plans for a number of room renovations in November, as part of the refurbishment program. We usually try to get coach parties to schedule their meal times 30 minutes apart... More

We stayed during a heatwave in Scotland and we were given rooms on the top floor. In one of the room the heat was almost unbearable and you could open the window only for a small gap. The staff could not fix the problem to wide open the window since it was due to security reason, but they provided us... More

This was the most expensive place we stayed in during our trip North and also the most disappointing. The rooms are in need of updating and the breakfast buffet was to an average standard. However, staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms were neat and tidy. It's also in a good location. But we're still glad we only stayed... More

We started looking a bit late for a room, and after searching the whole area this was the last room in town, at least to our knowledge. The hotel is centrally placed across from the railway station, and has a very nice façade, and a nice maybe traditional Scottish interior. A bit dark. The receptionist were very nice, efficient and... More
