My husband and I were travelling with a Late Teen and wanted a good stop-off point to explore. I had read the reviews on TripAdvisor with some concern, but from previous experience knew that there was little else in the area other than Fort William that the Late Teen might consider even remotely close to civilisation so we decided to... more

Don't be fooled by the gracious exterior of this hotel. We stayed in the 'new' section built on at the back of the hotel and they obviously hadn't heard of soundproofing. We could hear our neighbours talking, coughing and other 'sounds' all night. Its a time warp hotel caught in the 1970's and although our room was clean beds were... more

had five wonderful days in the Alexandria, location for town, buses and trains the best. food very good, service first class, juggling several tour groups and lone guest with no problem. also a schools prom one evening with out interference to the other guests. our room 126 on the front of the hotel was very nice we looked out to... more

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night only. It had free parking which was good. I arrived and the receptionist told me my room number and the time which breakfast is served but did not direct me to where the stairs or lift was to get to the room, or to where breakfast was served. When I got to... more

The hotel is in a very central position within the town, near the high street shops and the railway station. It’s an attractive looking old building with around 90 bedrooms and the front has an open outlook towards the loch. At the time of our stay it seemed quite busy with guests and functions suggesting it’s popular. We visited as... more

Stayed here in September .it was ok nothing serious wrong just bland and soulless really. Like a previous reviewer mentioned we had also stayed here in 1996 it felt then more homely and staff seemed more geared up. This time some of the staff seemed totally disinterested and in fact we felt like apologising for interrupting their conversation. Perhaps the... more

4 of us stayed in the Alexandra one night (27th September). The lasting impression will be of the staff - all very hepful and friendly. Beds were very comfortable with clean and cozy bedding. Food was above average - the haggis was a bit bland, but the steaks were pretty good. Brekfast was very good - help yourself to a... more

I don't want you to think this was a nightmare stay, it wasn't but to be honest, it was entirely what i have come to expect of 'highland' hotels. It was like staying in the toilet area of a Road-Chef at the motorway services. The rooms reminded me of staying with an elderly relative that has been moved into 'sheltered'... more
