I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it's obvious that now those owners have upped-sticks and moved on, that the place has gone seriously downhill since their departure. I'm not going to reminisce about times past, but let's just say that back then the hotel was a thriving, happy, always full, place. Nowadays it's a far cry... more

My stay at the Nevis Bank Hotel featured a series of problems. First of all, when I arrived at 7pm my room had not been serviced. Staff were quick to remedy this however, this was only the beginning of what turned out to be a lo....ong overnight stay. The radiator in the room was not working and there was no... more

I recently spent a night in the Fort William area having travelled up from Windemere. I did not book a room in Fort William due to the fact that most of my trips are spur of the moment. I was passing through the town and pasted the Nevis Bank Hotel and it looked ok. I went inside to enquire if... more

A warm welcome by friendly staff. The food was very good great pasta dishes, and great fish and chips. We found the night porter very friendly who also opend the bar if we requested late into the night. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean. we will be returning to this hotel on our next trip. more

On paper this hotel seems perfectly positioned for West Highland Way Walkers, just 50 metres from the end of the Way. Take my advice, walk a bit further and find another hotel, or better yet, a B&B. FW has tons of them. The Nevis Bank owner needs to watch one of those 'makeover' TV programmes. The rooms are 80's decorated... more

Going off the other reviews we were particularly unlucky with our stay here, however... The welcome we got on arrival was anything but warm, we instantly felt as though we were 'in the way' and were made to feel very uncomfortable. After leaving our luggage in our 1960s style room (the bathroom style was a touch more ‘retro’), we headed... more

Just back from a weekend in Fort William, we picked the hotel on the basis of the reviews and they were spot on. I was one of a group of five men over on a walking weekend. It was a good choice for what we wanted. Clean, inexpensive, reasonably central, close to the start of the Nevis trail, bar, pool... more

This is a pretty good hotel, reasonably priced though looking a little threadbare. However this is not your cityslicker hotel and is used by hillwalkers and skiers so I guess it has an excuse. Location was very good, a few minutes stroll into town, the room clean and spacious and the staff very friendly. I intend to go back in... more
