We stayed 2 nights at the Inverlochy Castle hotel. What a beautiful place! The drive up the laneway is lined with huge mature trees. You arrive at the front door, and are greeted by extremely polite staff who helped us with our bags and were quickly checked in to our beautiful room, called the Isle of Skye room. It was... More

Called in as passing in June. Hotel staff walked over to our car with umbrella's and walked us in which was a lovely touch. The Castle is stunning and beautifully decorated. The afternoon tea was the best I've ever had, the scones where fresh from the oven. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were happy to show us... More

The building is, simply, extraordinarily beautiful. The entrance lounge has high ceilings and is light and beautifully furnished. The surrounding gardens are perfectly maintained and the impression from the initial drive up to the castle in an avenue of huge imposing trees to the unloading portico is of baronial splendour. Our room, although described as a small double was quite... More

We stayed at Inverlochy Castle for a few nights in the Gatehouse cottage. It was one of the most incredible places we have ever visited. The castle and grounds are incredible. We were so impressed with the helpful staff. They made great suggestions for local attractions and helped us with transportation to 2 different airports. The food is spectacular! We... More

This must be the best country hotel we've ever stayed in. The welcome in the car park, the spacious well appointed bedroom and the food were all just right. Dinner in the evening could not be bettered. The selection of wines extensive and breakfast delicious. Thus hotel is by no means cheap, but our night was worth every penny. Can't... More

Inverlochy castle was a fabulous location. The castle was out of this world and I felt like a real celebrity. The rooms were large with a large bathroom (large enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children comfortably). The breakfast was just gorgeous - the choices were unreal. They ranged from whiskey porridge to smoked salmon and scrambled eggs to pancakes... More

This is a stunning hotel and you can feel it the moment you turn into the drive, outside of Fort William. It has the feel of a private home; it was as if we'd been invited for a shooting weekend and our hosts were just out of view. We stayed in a small double room, called Iona. Views of the... More

A grand home rather than a castle, this was a beautiful place to stay and I can strongly recommend it. The setting was perfect, the staff helpful and even the weather was good! I would recommend staying for dinner.

We wanted adjoining rooms as we were travelling with young kids, and the only rooms suitable were the Queen's Suite (where Queen Victoria slept) and the King's Suite. Some of the most gorgeous and spacious rooms we've ever been in - and the bathrooms were palatial and really well renovated recently. Double showers, stand alone baths, incredible views out over... The location is fantastic, the house extremely grand with a wow factor, however it has to be said this is not a castle, it's a Malaysian owned hotel that was an aristocratic private home in the early 19th century built in a baronial style. Our view of Ben Nevis was priceless, however, it was a hot day and the windows... More
