I stayed 2 night as a solo traveller with my dogs who sleep in my van. The car park was perfect for security of the dogs and easy to nip out the back to check on them. My room had no sockets as so i had to charge up my phone in the dining room. There is plenty of areas... More

I have been youth hostelling for many years now and this hostel has to be the worst and most disappointing experience I have had yet. Stayed in October 2013 with 4 people. Bad points - 1. very thin walls so you can hear everything. 2. men in crowds were noisy (had to open door and shout for them to be... More

Excellent hostel. Service was great in what was a very busy time of year. You really cannot get a better location being at the foot of Ben Nevis. Incredible place. The rooms themselves were great, comfortable beds and spacious. Very clean The only downside is that there is no power outlets in the rooms which was annoying for things like... More

This hostel is about a 3 mile walk from the train station (and town) in Fort William and sits right beneath Ben Nevis. There is a cafe and pub just down the road, which is convenient. It is clean with a big kitchen area and good washrooms (including a family washroom) - they even provided towels. We stayed in a... More

Stayed for 4 nights while exploring Fort William and surrounding areas. Sadly I think this was the wrong hostel for me as I was not as serious a mountaineer unlike most here and was hoping that it would be a friendlier and more social place to stay than it turned out to be. If you are climbing Nevis it is... More

Good Points: Great location at the foot of Ben Nevis (closest accom). Great breakfast - tasty & large portions (cooked breakfast). Friendly staff. Bad Points: No power sockets in rooms. Thin walls. Overpriced Internet usage - £3 per hour. Outdated decor. Too many people and not enough facilities. Bedding not ironed - unlike all other YHAs in the UK. Overpriced... More

This fairly large hostel is well run, clean and comfortable. The hostel was busy so only dorm rooms available. Women's was very quiet but men's rather full on (according to my husband). Kitchen has been recently refurbished, well equiped and very clean.

If you are looking for very remote, in the mountains, fair enough. This place may be perfect for you. However, Paying 24 pounds to sleep in a 12 person dorm is a lot in my opinion! On top of that, There are only two power outlets in the entire room. The one in mine didn't work at all, so I... More

We were doing the National 3 Peaks over a weekend and this was the ideal location to start. The start of the walk up Ben Nevis was directly opposite the hostel. As expected with a Youth Hostel the accommodation was basic but clean, the cooked breakfast was really good and the staff were very friendly and helpful - letting us... More
