I'll start by saying that this was booked for me on behalf of others, so I had no idea if what to expect. I only met the staff once during my three day stay. This didn't bother me but may put off some people. The bedrooms were cold and the bedding minimal. It got warmer with more people, but I... More

i hope that the owner gets the damp problem sorted as it makes the room smell repulsive ,especially when you have to put up with it all night . The place is in dire need of a revamp and I sincerely hope the place gets it . The owner only seems to have good intentions , but seems to have... More

Stayed one night, October - one person in a double room. £32 and no breakfast (there are B&Bs in Fort William looking nicer and charging less) . Bed dirty, seemed to have other peoples hair on sheets. Shower not working. Unfriendly landlady could just about be bothered to drag herself out of bed to take our group's money and get... More

Stayed here as a group of 8 before doing the 3 peaks challenge for charity. Upon arrival we were told to leave all our bags outside whilst the owner spoke to us like children about the house rules etc. (one of which is quite disturbing, none of your own bedding allowed sleeping bags, pillows etc you MUST use theirs, no... If you are looking for cheap and very basic accommodation then Farr Cottage is the place for you. However you will have to put up with basic accommodation, damp in the rooms, poor showers a certain level of uncleanliness in the bathrooms and a slightly eccentric manager/owner. If you can live with these then you will be ok. Safe to... More

Farr Cottage is located in Corpach, quite a long walk from Fort William center, it's not clean and tidy as it can be, bathroom in our room was sort of a train-toilette, but worse. Bright spots are prices and the licensed bar inside.

stayed here with family 26th-28th July'14.Booked 8 beds in a 10 bed dorm.Requested them if we could buy out the remaining two beds so we could have the room to ourselves. They said it was booked out.Surpringly one bed was idle throughout our stay!!!They wanted us out of the cottage everyday from 10am to 4pm for cleaning. But not once during... More

I would like to make things clear as your review is unfair and wrong. Yes you booked 8 beds in our 10 bedded mixed dorm and you requested to book the room for exclusive use on your arrival. You didn't request this any time before when it would of been possible for you to do this. We have a young... More

Have stayed here before for a few days back in 2012 , recently stayed there as of the 29th through to 2nd July. 5 of us were up at Fort William for a spot of downhill biking at Aonach Mòr Dorms are large enough to accommodate 10 bunk beds, shower cubicle is pretty cramped though, but they do have extra... I booked for a mixed party of 20 to stay for 2 nights whilst competing in a charity event in Fort William. Having just read some of the less favourable reviews below I'm wondering if I was staying at the same lodge; if those reviews were true then those comments have clearly been taken on board. Kirsty and the staff... More

Had a brilliant weekend at Farr Cottage Lodge, despite being short staffed Kirsty went out of her way to make us all feel welcome and comfortable. We stayed here when we did a sponsored walk up 'The Ben'. When we'd finished our walk Kirsty had the bar open for our return so we could celebrate. Thank you.
